Google 'Smoaky.' East Texas based sports chat. The format they use is cleaner (mostly text, less graphics) so its easier to read (old eyes don't like all the bells and whistles here). 18 pages of pretty much nothing in the poll thread...very little useful information and the poll favors Carthage about 2-3 to 1. Carthage has 2 losses to 4A teams but there seems to be very little mentioned about those losses or what their weaknesses might be.

I wasn't impressed but then I prefer hashbrowns to grits and I like unsweeted tea. Must be my West Texas roots.

Should be a heck of a game.

Those Carthage posters are just getting started with this new-fangled smack-talk deal. I don't think they really "get it". It's supposed to be good-natured ribbing about "my team is better than yours", and "we will beat you because .... ", etc. They don't beat around the bush, that's for sure! Some of the things they say are definitely offensive, but you can't be thin-skinned and let it go to heart. The only thing that really matters is what happens on the football field. So far, though, they've backed it up.:D

Actually not quite. I live in an Austin suburb but have some history with both Celina and Prosper. Now Liberty Hill is just north so I've managed to stay close to quality HS football. IJS. So, not a 'Homer', but pulling for Celina to win this one.

Even made the roadtrip to Midlothian but we may have been the only happy travelers on I-35 going South....lots of Liberty Hill and La Vega vehicles.
