As far as Celina almost out gaining Carthage in total yards and having more rushing yards, when the other team is to scared to kick past the 40 it's hard to gain yards. Please talk about a video game or something else you know about. :p

actually he has a point ... Carthage had numerous short fields which reduced the yards they had to go to score. and Celina never really stopped them so its just logical that if Celina didnt kick short all the time then Carthage would have had more yards

Imagine if they had pinned Carthage back each time. Instead of just one 89 yard run he could have had multiple long runs instead of the 20-30 yarders

I was just playing with the lad Dad.

Well maybe they should find one kid out of the 140 who can kick it 50+ yards.

And I agree, it is a defensive kick off. I wouldn't want to give superior athletes a running start either.

He can kick it that deep. We were trying to get some air under it and catch it like we do every week.

I have said a prayer for your son. That is terrible what happened. I can only imagine what was going through his mind. The physical pain was something I'm sure he could deal with, but the emotional letdown knowing he couldn't play in the biggest game of his high school career (so far), well that had to be the most painful. I've prayed for a speedy recovery for your son, and hope he gets another opportunity.

About the game, it went about like I figured it would. I knew Celina would give them a good game with the good coaching and the heart of champions they display annually. I also knew that Carthage was a different animal after watching them this year. It was just hard for me to imagine, after having seen the Dawgs play, that any team out there could be better. It was just one of those special teams with special players that come around once every few years. I didn't think they would be denied a state championship, and they proved me correct. I'm not gonna tell any of the Celina folk I told them so, but............ :D

Thanks for the kind words and prayers. We have now seen what happened to my son on video. One of the parents happened to catch it. Basically, he was just running onto the field, one of our other players came at him from the side, Brady reached out his hand for a low 5, the other player hit him with both forearms on the shoulder hard enough to knock him sideways and to the ground. Just one of those things...........

Spent nearly all day at the Doc's office. Results of the MRI were not good. "Nearly a complete disocation" according to the Doc. ACL is definitely torn, also damage to the MCL and PCL, but can't tell the extent yet due to swelling. Also a copression fracture to the femur. A long road of rehab ahead after surgery.

Definitely difficult news, but I am able to put this is perspective because I have a co-worker with a 17 year old son who is battling leukemia for the second time and fighting for his life, not his football career. My son has always been blessed with good athletic ability and health and this is his first taste of real adversity. "Into each life a little rain must fall............."

With that being said, prayers are still appreciated.:)

I couldn't believe that when it happened. My prayers and support go out to him.
