This would be assuming they win next week..... which should be a hell of a game.

It is pretty amazing that Collin County could possibly sweep BOTH 3A and BOTH 5A State Titles...

I'm betting against that happening but it's still quite a feat that it's even a possibility with only one week left in the season

Allen will play in the 5A1 title game
Wylie will play in the 5A2 title game
Prosper won the 3A1 title game
Celina will play in the 3A2 title game

I know it's not this year. However, I'm pretty sure that Texas City and LaMarque won championships, from the same district, recently.

As well as Garrison and San Augustine in 2003... and Converse Judson and San Antonio Roosevelt in 1995

It's never happened in two different districts in the same season before though

Nope, not until we geter done next week, but should we pull it off.

Don't you think it odd to have a head to head with 2 state champs the 6th game of the season...should draw a crowd.

And then in pre season a 2a champion in Daingerfield if they win next week...haveing to take on a 3a champion

But then Celina has too easy a schedule according to many:)

firstly...alaskacat, your classiness on other threads is simply stunning. Im sure your fellow posters love how you are making them look.
2nd, as much as I respect Celina, you are making me root against them just because of your attitude.
And third, your community just simply isnt used to the team having to take time to peak. That happens in alot of places. Typically Celina is in top form right out of the gate, and this year was different and surprised people. You had a couple of posters suggest this fact. But now you are making all Celina posters look bad with your attitude.

Well excuse me for being human and looking to next years schedule..thought it would be interesting, but alas I guess I am to much of a backwoods hick to fit into a politically correct tea party.

Sled dog mushers and Hockey Players seem to have a bit thicker skins

I will try and refrain from bruising any feelings in the future. :confused:

Also Canyon Creek (Private School) in Richardson (Collin County) that didn't even have their own home football field won state for their division.

i was thinking the same thing yesterday....i posted on here before about the championships collin county has through history with plano, celina, mckinney, wylie, farmersville and now prosper........wonder if any other county comes close.

as a normally background celina fan (i'm supposed to be unbiased in my region 2 reporting), i can say that if 99% of any team's fans were classy, then everyone would love everyone

Yes, they're both in the same district (8-5A). Allen won 31-28 in the last game of the regular season.

And just as an aside, 4A D1 State Finalist Longview's ONLY loss of the season came in Week 0 against 5A D1 State Finalist Allen.

It's interesting how most people are giving Katy a better chance at winning than Hightower.

Remember that Hightower is the only undefeated 5A team remaining and they did beat two of the three teams that beat Katy, including the 17-5A district champs Katy Cinco Ranch in the playoffs 24-21 as well as North Shore 28-21.

Cinco Ranch beat Katy in the final game of the regular season 27-21 to win the district title.
