Not sure but this has been a top-notch tourney for over a quarter century. It's very well run and usually attracts the top teams in South/Central Texas.

Sweeny has won the two tournaments that they entered with ease.

They defeated Bellville 80 - 65 in their first tournament Championship last week. (Last Week)

They defeated #14 in 2A Weimar 79 - 36 and then beat them for the Championship 104 - 64 (Today)

This was the first time Weimar was BEHIND ALL YEAR!!!

Sweeny was not allowed in 2 3A Tournaments
a 4A Tournament
or 2 5A Tournaments

Last week Stafford who is #11 in 3A and in the same district as Sweeny had to go to Fort Worth for a Tournament.

The nearest one to accept that poses a challenge for Sweeny is Corpus which is 3 1/2 to 4 hours away.

I know Coach Crews at Cal welcomes the challenge...he wants to get the squad tough before district starts with 2 games each vs T-M and Flour Bluff. Win or lose he's just looking for progress.

I hope they keep winning. It has been exciting. We'll have to wait and see the Bracket. Anyone know what teams will be there?

we know nobodys scared of sweeny but we are just saying that we are excited about our team this year and we will be good in 3A thats all..!

I've been saying it for weeks. Sweeny is Legit.

When they beat Bellville, they were missing their starting C and their backup C.


I want to go to this tourney.
