Congratulations to the Prosper High School football team. You played a great game and when the time for stepping up came in the fourth quarter, you stepped up big. Outstanding discipline and determination.

LaVega had problems with discipline in the game against Navasota and almost lost and it looks like that happened again. They appeared confused and unfocused in the final drive and at other times during this game. Either the coach has a real problem with motivation, or Prosper had them so confused they did not know what to do.

Prosper defense was just relentless tonight. Parr could never get any room to break free. I'm wondering if he got banged up a little earlier on in the game because he seemed to be avoiding contact from the 2nd qtr on.

It was Prosper that nearly blew it. Their special teams were absolutely atrocious tonight. LV speed on defense was something else too. Prosper couldn't get any yards outside the tackles. They finally realized that the only way to get first downs was to run between the tackles. Brian Monroe, #5, took some big time hits from the LV linebackers. The problem for LV was that Monroe was already 3 yds past the l.o.s. before he was touched.

I refer to the last few minutes...I listened to it on the radio. Penalty after penalty on the game winning drive...over thrown balls to open receivers with a minute to go...missed blocking assignments. It sounded like the wheels came off.

Did you ever stop to think maybe you weren't getting a true picture on the radio? The Prosper Eagles played an outstanding game and deserved to win and I congratulate them. The La Vega Pirates played a good game and came up short. No Excuses. Prosper Eagles and their fans were class acts and their young men represented them in an outstanding fashion. The La Vega Pirates also represented their community in outstanding fashion in a losing effort. It was a great game to watch and enjoy. Neither team deserves any detrimental comments in any form or fashion.

This was the epitome of the phrase "Defense wins championships". I believe Parr ended up with 37 yards or so on the ground. Waco definitely didn't blow the game on the last drive. They moved the ball down the field more efficiently than I liked on that last drive.

Those first two games yesterday at Texas Stadium were two of the strangest games I've ever watched out at Texas Stadium. The Sulphur Springs vs. Everman game was an odd one and so was Prosper vs. LaVega.

The first half was completely controlled by Modoc yet they found themselves up only 10-3. Prosper had somewhere between 10-15 yards of offense in the first half, but Modoc couldn't build up a big lead. You'd have thought Modoc would've been up by a couple of TD's with how they controlled the game in the first 24 minutes. I felt they were in a lot of trouble going into the half up by just 7.

The 2nd half was all Prosper as Parr and Wilson were both completely shutdown. Wilson had a man behind the secondary for what would've likely been a 96 yard TD, but instead it was badly underthrown and intercepted. That last drive had little to do with Modoc losing. Prosper's 2nd half performance on defense was the difference in the win. Neither team did much of anything offensively, but when the Eagles needed a big drive in the 4th quarter they got it to earn a hard fought win.

I was at this game and Parr got shut down completely. Prosper had that lock defense on.

This game would have been 17-3 but a blown coverage gave up a bomb.

I dont know why, but the offense I saw against AW during pre district from la vega was totally different. La Vega ran a heavy wishbone and I offense against Wylie the whole game. Against Prosper they ran alot of shotgun and single back sets with very few I plays. They should have stuck to the run with Parr, but after he got shut down on a few plays they strayed from the run.

Prosper is losing a great deal of seniors this year on both sides of the ball. I'm not sure we can reload year after year like Celina.

A big part of reloading is desire.

If the players that are behind the seniors really really got a good taste of success. And ... they have addictive personalities, then they will need that State Championship 'fix' next year too.

IMO, addiction is one of the reasons Celina seems to reload.

Winning football games seems to be the drug of choice for Celina kids.

in saying that..The D for Prosper returns a nice grouping of players

Prosper has a decent 4A gene pool to draw from. ;)

Should be pretty good, but we are losing a great senior class. We lose our entire offensive line, quaterback, free safety, running back, and one two recievers. On a good note, we do get back most of our defensive starters.

OC is Jason Spoor; Anderson is O-line coach. He is an awesome coach, my son ( a Sr.) was our starting offensive right guard and loves him as a coach and a perosn.

Great to have guys like him working with our young men of Prosper.
