unless LH makes some adjustments and excute them on defense, LH might be to deep in a hole to comeback.

not much adjustment and for them offensively as the run game is what got them two state titles.

That's just part of it. When you talk smack your boys better be able to back it up. I can testify. I have already had to eat my humble pie this year. But it was a good run. Looking forward to Gilmer re-loading and making another strong run next year -- just like the Mustangs, Panthers and others will do.

The bad thing about the Slot T is that once someone figures out how to stop it you're screwed. You are not left with many options to switch to. The lack of a passing game and time remaining kill you once you get down.

To the fans and player from Liberty Hill, you have amazed us for 38 games in a row and tonight will never tarnish the class program you are. Hold your heads high and know that you have the classiest fans in 3A football that will be right back in the stands supporting you next year. Most teams play for 50 years and can't get one State Championship and you had two in a row.

Congrats to the Celina Bobcats for an impressive win over a great Liberty Hill team. Celina's playoff march is notable because of thir winning playoff margins and the fact that they had to turn their season around after 3 regular season losses----you have my greatest respect.

The Liberty Hill teams of the past 3 seasons have been the epitome of class 3A football, and I salute you for one of the best consecutive win strings and bringing home 2 state titles and 1 semi-final appearance----not many can come close to matching that record and you have been a class program every step of the way. Way to go Panthers!

Congrats to the LH players and coaches and also to the Celina players and coaches. As far as the fans and the armchair QB's for LH I have to said after reading all your quotes this week you have let your month overload your butt, Celina backed up everything they said. Again not dogging the players and coaches for LH, they deserve all the credit in the world for what they have accomplished. The fans seem to get the big head, you need to be a little more humble. From these scores tonight it shows that our Region was not very good, to get beat this bad shows that we had a weak region. After looking at the playoffs scores of LH and Giddings other than the Bellville game the competition was pretty weak. The cream always rises to the top in the end.

Great win against a quality opponent Celina. Good luck next week! It's stacking up to be a great game.

Their kids play hard and don't quit. My kind of team. Congrats on the 38 game win streak and the state semi's.

Coaches for the bobcats, best called game I have seen maybe ever. Kept the LH D guessing and looking most of the night. And against that squad that is OUTSTANDING. Boys way to execute. Almost flawless. One more like that and we can add number 9 to the collection.

If memory serves me right, the last 3 times Celina played East Texas teams they lost -- Daingerfield, Gilmer and Daingerfield again this year. Carthage is going to continue that East Texas winning streak.

East Texas fans are constantly redrawing the lines of what East Texas is. I've seen everything from Farmersville to Calallen used as East Texas teams when they want to have something to crow about.

I sure wish they would quit redrawing the lines every time Celina plays someone. Texarkana isn't in East Texas. Neither is Pittsburg, or Brownsboro, or Canton.

We never stop and won't anytime soon. Past history drives the desire for kids to add to the legend. We let everybody know about it cause you know what? It's really freakin awesome to come from the most prodigious football town in TEXAS>>>>>CELINA

All this past week--hey Celina, why won't you tell us why you're gonna win. If you can't tell us why you will win then we predict you loose big!!! wha wha wha.

We win because we just live football in Celina. Yeah I said "live it". Our kids can't get enough. It's not something you can explain well and it doesn't translate in your little factoid record worlds.

Here's some facts for the 2008 Bobcats--
Lost to Dangerfield a 2A state finalist next week--you say we suck
Lost to Prosper the 2008 D1 STATE CHAMPS--you say we can't win cause such and such played xy and z and they were barely beaten by Prosper and would stack your wood. BAH!!!
The 2008 Celina Bobcats ARE PLAYING FOR STATE!!!!

I look forward to a great, challenging game against Carthage because according to the standards previously set by a majority of posters on this board and their view of Celina---we STILL haven't played any body yet. Yall dissed Kennedale, Van Alstyne, Pleasant Grove, Kaufman and now I guess you'll add Liberty Hill??? YOU SHOULDN'T cause they were good and you know what? So were those other teams. IMO Pleasant Grove was more of a threat to Celina than any one else so far.

WE ARE DAMN GOOD> ADMIT IT!!!!!! There's no doubt after tonight. Region II, district 9-3A toughest district in ALL 3A, producer of one state champ so far and another state finalist, champ TBD.

Well Benny, as much as it pains me I will call a spade a spade and tonight Celina was light years better than LH. I was as dissapointed in LH as I was impressed with Celina. Maybe when I get over this I will expand on the reasons Im dissapointed in LH, for now this is Celinas time to enjoy and anyone that thinks they won't win next week then they aren't being honest with their self! What a great run the panthers had, nothing at all to be ashamed off, Celina was just leagues ahead of you tonight! The scene at the end of the game, or war is more like it, and the way most of the fans handle themselves on here is what makes it enjoyable to be apart of all of this. LHPM and the others will be on here tomorrow i'm sure, but they've got their boys to take care of tonight cause they just played hard and got their hearts broke, thats just the way it is. LHMP please tell your son he played a heck of a game, and that boy is a hoss!! Congrats again to LH you guys are definitely a great team and a great class act and ya'll had a great run, this wont be the last time we see you guys! All that being said, Go Bobcats, let's finish it!!!

Point taken. It's just funny how the naysayers are always popping up. There's eating crow and crowing. Sometimes one precedes the other. Believe me, I don't take a win for granted but it's time to acknowledge that Celina is a package deal. Past, present and all. I sincerely expect Carthage to be a huge challenge. you haven't won it all yet. Be careful...be cautious...be respectful...you have climbed a huge mountain, but you havent reached the top just yet. Be careful...

Ctown was very careful, and didn't claim anything that wasn't true. Might want to read it again.

Carthage appears to be the real deal. I said it last week and I'll say it this week. Our boys will be there!

I am also refering to the tone...it sounded more like you had just won the championship...thats my point. It aint over. I think Celina will indeed win it all...but it aint over just yet.

Not JUST a chick... apparently a PROUD chick. Youngster, I've seen this chick and she's mui bonita. Let's say she get's my motor running - but as I recall she talks about a husband sometimes. Too bad for me - - but who am I kiddin', she's probably not into a guy who was retired before she started kindergarten.

What I'm telling you is that she's not just a chick, but a dang fine chick.

Well, I don't know who said that, but their information is incorrect. I'm going to do my best to break this down to the best of my knowledge. Since I do not know JH "B" team records, those kids will just have to have the same as the "A" team. It's not in me at the moment to break down each year. The senior class started playing Varsity in '05 with Lattimore, '06 with 6 more, etc.

The most losses ANY senior has had since 7th grade, is 6, all at the Varsity level, and one tie in 8th grade (Burnet). ('05: Burnet, Wimberley, Cuero; '06: Cuero, Wimberley; '08: Celina)

The least losses any senior has had since 7th grade is 3, most at the sub-varsity level, and the 8th grade Burnet tie. ('05 Freshman: Burnet; '07 JV: Cuero; '08 Varsity: Celina)

Seniors that were JV in 06 but Varsity in '07 have only had one loss, to Burnet (Freshman year) before this Saturday. Those never lost to Cuero.

Yes, thanks for the correction! Somewhere over the weekend my brain went south.
