HE'S DONE IT AGAIN - Decatur champion cowboy Trevor Brazile continued his spectacular legacy last night at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. That's where he clinched his sixth career all-around world title in Round six of the sports' biggest event in front of a crowd of 16,652 at the Thomas & Mack Center. It was a pair of Decatur rodeo stars that battled for the top prize in tie-down roping. Brazile took first place with time of 7.7 seconds, just in front of rookie Tuf Cooper in second place at 8.0. The feat was worth $16,767 and helped Brazile wrap up the all-around title again, which ties with Larry Mahan and Tom Ferguson as six-time world champion all-around cowboys . It also put him within one of Ty Murray's all-time record of seven. Brazile now has $2,933,428 in career earnings, which puts him $66,572 away from becoming the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association's first $3 million cowboy. Brazile has earned $325,758 in team roping, tie-down roping and steer roping thus far in 2008. The accomplishment pleased and humbled the talented roper. "I really didn't know," said a surprised Brazile, who now has nine career world titles, upon learning about his all-around title. "I had cinched one before the NFR was over in the past, and it's an awesome feeling. It's awesome. You've got Ty Murray, Larry Mahan and Tom Ferguson, (in this group) and that says enough right there. It's not the championships, it's the guys who've been there who make them special. That's an awesome, awesome deal."
