Yesterday they beat Notre Dame in a close one 2 to 1. ND had scored in the first 20 seconds of the game for their lone goal and North Carolina scored two goals in the second half to win it. ND had chances to score more points but didn't get it done. That is the wonderful thing about soccer in that the better team sometimes doesn't win. The game was at North Caroina and it looked like a little home cooking from the refs helped them out. North Carolina got a penalty kick that tied it and it was an obvious foul but it was one they had overlooked both ways before but they called it when it was critical. It also looked like the same foul could have been called the other way a couple of times in the past few minutes. Also ND was hurt with two offside calls and the replays showed those were wrong.

Still North Carolina made a great play on its' last goal. North Carolina continues its' dynasty in this sport but the encouraging thing is that they didn't dominate. The two semis were won 1 - 0 and North Carolina barely beat the Aggies in OT 2 - 1 after trailing until the last 8 minutes of the game. So be encouraged. What will help in the future is to not have North Carolina have all the home games in the finals. All their playoffs were at North Carolina. And the home cooking unfortunately helped.
