Nobody that I know of. But many of us said it was the toughest top to bottom. And it was. Wylie just barely beat the last place team in that district, so I'd say that easily makes it the toughest from top to bottom. Last place team hangs tough with the DI semifinalist, seems pretty tough to me.

It was a great game. Both teams played hard. It was the best game I have seen in recent memory. The 4th and 10 pass play with 6 seconds left, that put Prosper in field goal range was the play of the game.

What I will remember most is that Wylie couldn't stop Prosper. I may be wrong, but I don't think Prosper had any 3 and outs.

I didn't think Prosper was better than Wylie and was surprised they really won. Prosper is a good team. Not flashy, not the best athletes, but really solid. A lot like Wylie. Wylie usually beats these teams. But not today. This is the 2nd year in a row that Wylie loses in the state semifinals, when it seemed like they had the game in control in the last seconds of the 4th quarter.

Great Season Bulldogs. You are one of 4 teams left playing.

Good Luck Prosper next week. Lets not make this for nothing.

Great game by two great teams. That's about as evenly matched as two teams can be. Congrats to Prosper. Hope you win it all next week.

Now let me be the first to say it. I was there at the game. When I saw the play live, it looked like he didn't get in on the two point conversion. I was pretty surprised to see the ref call it good. When they showed the replay on the jumbo tron, I was even more convinced he didn't get in. So were the rest of Wylie's fans who soundly booed after the replay showed.

I'm not sure what the radio guys think they saw. But I'm about 90% sure he didn't get in. He was upended on the play and landed on his head and shoulders. The consensus from those around us was that he landed on his left shoulder short of the endzone, the landed akwardly. It's entirely possible that the ref saw the ball in his right arm cross the line, but I didn't see it from where I was. I'm sure we'll get a better look later, but it won't change anything.

Bottom line is Wylie's won their share of these close games in the past. Guess you have to lose your share too. Go get 'em Eagles! :clap: :clap: :clap:

it was #10. He caught a pass sliding to the ground. The ref signaled incomplete. From where I was standing it looked like a catch. I was surprised the ref signaled incomplete. Anyways so was #10. He turned his back to the ref and flipped the ball up in the air. Whistle and flag later, you have a 15 yard penalty.

I don't really think wylie lost its cool in this game. I think they are a very consistent team with very few penalties.

I don't get to see wylie play much unless they make it the 2 or 3rd round of playoffs every year. I live in Denton and choose to watch them when they make it close to my area. The last 2 weeks I have seen them play. It seems to me that they have a bend but don't break defense. They thrive off of turnovers. Well Prosper didn't really give them many opportunities. They hold on to the ball really well. Wylie did get one interception late in the game. I thought at that point the game was over. But it wasn't.

Prosper seemed to me to be playing very aggressive and had a mission of trying to get some of the Wylie players to loose their cool especially #12. There was a lot of pushing and shoving coming from the prosper and wylie players in the game. Word is, Coach Sandifer got on to #12 at halftime and told him he can't help the team if he is watching from the sidelines. I still noticed some cheap stuff from Prospers #8 the entire 2nd half. After every tackle he was in on, he would take an extra shove to the player on the ground. #57, the kicker, was ejected from the game from punching one of the Wylie players. That is why they choose to go for the 2pt conversion at the end of the game. They had no kicker. From my understanding, he will also be out of next weeks state final. Anyways, the game was very intense and had a rivalry atmosphere from the start.

I watched the video of the final score on Go Friday Night website. There was no way he scored. It is clear as day that he was down on the ground at the half yard line. The ball comes out as his shoulders are hitting the ground. Even from the poor camera angle you can tell he doesn't get it.

That is terrible for Wylie to lose the game on a bad call. The ref is right there. What is he looking at.

Wylie, you got robbed here. Prosper recieved the first Christmas gift this season.

I just watched it too and he has a valid argument. Althoughg the angle is bad, the ball does come out and goes into the endzone. I think he was down by contact 1/2 foot short but the ref was right there and certainly had a better angle.

Yes that is when I believe he was ejected. I may have missed spoken on the ejected player. I thought that the kickers was #57. I think the kicker was #50 and he was in on the last series.

So the kicker may not of been ejected.

I saw the replay on the news last night. The kid made an amazing play by reaching the ball over at the last instance. It was a TD for sure. The ball didnt come out till he hit the ground, and by then it was already over the line by a full football. Give the kid the credit that is due him. He made an incredible effort. I just still cant believe the coach had the guts to make that call. Wow what a gamble!

Yes, it definitely was a gamble! Just from reading similar incidences in the past, if he had not made it, there would be some saying it was a stupid call by the coach. ;)

Is the proper term for a two point conversion a TD? Maybe two-points after TD?

Is that it appeared to me that the coaches meeting between Sandifer and the Prosper head coach was not a pleasent one after the game. Hugh was talking and Prosper's head coach was surrounded by about 4 other coaches and they were all watching Coach Sandifer talk.

Coach Sandifer is a class act so it is highly likely he was being very complimentary. However, after watching Coach Sandifer for years, it appeared to me he was not happy about something.

Anyone have a clue what was said?

Your photo proves nothing. His left shoulder hit before the ball crossed the line. Go watch the video.

That is my point. The photo is a good shot but his shoulder is already down. That isn't convincing to me.

The video from the other Go Friday night, you can clearly see the goalline and his shoulders hitting before the goalline. I don't see his hand crossing over until after that.

Anyways this discussion isn't changing any of the outcome.

I am the one who started the Bad Call post. I still believe it was a bad call and I just want to make sure that both teams know the truth. It doesn't matter what happens after this..What matters is what is fact.

I hope Prosper does win next week. Or it will all be for nothing.

I saw the little punk do that also and I wish someone got it on tape. Can this kind of behavior be reported to the UIL? Will they take any kind of action? I respect what the Eagles did to Wylie last night but I hope La Vega puts 50pts on them.

Well, Prosper certainly is a team that I want the Bobcats to pound every season.

They have been beat by a far superior program year in and out. And ... every year they hope they will win that one game.

So, when they finally won the game. Who could be surprised that their emotions exploded and they lost decorum?

Not me.

As we all do, we have a lot of friends from Prosper. And ... I know they are all giddy about their season, as they should be.

And ... I have absolutely no problem wishing them well or any other team from the Bobcat's district ... when they are not playing the Bobcats.

I do understand your position too. Since Pilot Point doesn't want to play anymore, this season's incarnation of Eagles was a good start to possibly finding a new Bobcat Rival.

But understand my position. I am not petting the dog that bit me. I can just be a good sport about a good old fashioned butt whooping. And that is what Prosper did to the Bobcats this season. Like it or not.

My personal hope is that District 9-3A brings home both 3A State crowns.

Benny, I figure not everyone will be as harsh as I am. However, I do believe we have some ground to criticize from, having been there several years ago when we finally beat Pilot Point after a Long drought of losses. There was no storming the field. The teams shook hands and the Celina fans greeted the victorious Bobcats after the sportsmanship of shaking hands had been complete. If we are able to do that with what was a much more intense rivalry, I expect others to show that kind of class. Perhaps it comes from the coaches but either way, it's a component of the team and reflects on them. Not trying to be too much of a homer but I don't hear much criticism of our sportsmanship and we've won and lost many heartbreakers over the years.

I am not censoring anyone. You are completely welcome to your own opinion. And this is a discussion forum so I am free to explain why I see things differently.

Now that I've convinced everyone........It was a great game and a great season. Prosper was the real deal. Though I did think at least one of the kids (won't call him out) needs to be disciplined for his antics. (Like an 18 yo kid cares what an old fart thinks) Now the long 8 months until it starts over again.............

I'm not sure what you're talking about. If it was the personal foul, it happened on third and long after they called an incomplete pass. It backed Wylie up for the fourth down field goal try, but they ended up making it anyway. Besides, a lot of football was played after that and Wylie had their chances.

A penalty did not cost anyone the game. Rather it came down to a very close last play and call at the end on the 2 point try. It was so close, the ref didn't have a choice but to call it good I suppose. It's a play that would have been reviewed from every angle at higher levels. But it is what it is.

Does not matter if the kid was in or not! The ref made the call and it stands no matter what. Prosper advances to the state final. You win some and you lose some, it’s part of the game. And for the kid that flipped us off!:mad: There is one in every crowd. I saw few of Prosper players come over after the game was over to see how one of our injured player was doing. I feel that showed a lot of class.

Actually I would agree that the penalty had a huge result on the outcome. It was going to be fourth and one-two yards. I think that coach Sandifer would have probably gone for it so Wylie could go up by a TD instead of a FG, because it was obvious that they also had a great kicker, but the penalty eliminated that idea totally. If they had converted, even if they don't score a TD and have to settle for a FG, there would have been less than 1 minute left on the clock if any time.


Having said that I want to congradulate the Prosper Eagles on a great victory. It would have been great to see the Bulldogs play one more week, but the reality is that even had the Bulldogs won the game, I'm not sure if they could have fielded a competitive enough to win in the title game because of the number of devistating injuries. By the fourth quater last Friday, they were playing without four of there top five football players (all skill positions), and none of them would have been able to play this weekend. Prosper has a great football team with a good combination size and speed and they seem to be healthy. I would really like to see them win the title next weekend, and best of luck to them. I'm not saying I'm again Waco LV, I just always seem to pull for the team that knocks the Bulldogs out.

I have no idea wher yall are getting that it was going to be a fourth and a few yards. The original line of scrimmage was the 17 yard line. 15 yard dead ball penalty moved it to the 32. Add 7 yards for the holder and ten yards to the goal post that makes it a 49 yard field goal. We missed it to the left. Prosper was offsides so we got the five yard penalty. Now it was a 44 yard field goal that we made.

Bottom line even if the personal foul penalty wasnt called we are still kicking the field goal.

Of course that is what happened at the game I went to, maybe yall's was different.

You might want to go to booster club and look at it again. It was a curl route to #10. It was going to fouth and short wear he was tackled, but since it was a dead ball foul, the penalty was a loss of down. If you remember also, because it was a loss of down, Wylie almost didn't get their FG set up in time to snap it for the FG try. They actually missed the first try because they were hurrying but Prosper was offsides so they got a second chance.

My point earlier was that, I think Hugh was going to go for it on fourth and short so he could either take more time of the clock or go up by a TD. If you watch Coach Sandifers body language after the penalty I think you will agree with me. At that time our defense was playing pretty good and he was willing to take the chance on fourth and short from around the 15. JMO

It would have been 4th and short if #10 had caught the ball. It was ruled incomplete. Therefore 4th and long. The reaction to the incomplete call got the penalty and after 15 yards 4th and really long.

Does not matter if the Prosper's QB was in or not or Wylie's #10 said something to the ref! The refs made the calls and they stands no matter what. Prosper advances to the state final. You win some and you lose some, it’s part of the game. We can argue this forever and the calls will still stand. It’s time to move on and prepare for next season. Go Bulldogs!!!!!!!!!!!


And for the kid that flipped us off(I only saw one)!:mad: There is one in every crowd. I saw few of Prosper players come over after the game was over to see how one of our injured player was doing. I feel that showed a lot of class.

Dont need to see the film I was at the game. It was third and 8 from the 17 yard line. The ball was thrown to the 7 or 8 and ruled incomplete. That would have made it 4th and 8 from the 17 yard line. making it a 34 yard feild goal. We made a 44 yard field goal. No way Hugh goes for it on 4th and 8 from the 17 yard line.

Yeah this explains alot. As I was leaving the stadium I heard several idiots blaming #10 for the game being lost. I assumed they meant because he was the tackler on the two point conversion. Now I see that they thought he caught the ball and then got the penalty. I talked with his father about what happened. Knowing the kid personally I doubt he said wht the ref thought he said. Regardless they rulled the ball incomplete. All his penalty did was cause us to kick a longer field goal. It did not efeect the game what so ever.!

Wow, I have been wanting to say that for a long time about a lot of people. I think most of the people that dont post what school they follow just want to write negative stuff or ashamed of where they went!

I have no idea wher yall are getting that it was going to be a fourth and a few yards. The original line of scrimmage was the 17 yard line. 15 yard dead ball penalty moved it to the 32. Add 7 yards for the holder and ten yards to the goal post that makes it a 49 yard field goal. We missed it to the left. Prosper was offsides so we got the five yard penalty. Now it was a 44 yard field goal that we made.

Bottom line even if the personal foul penalty wasnt called we are still kicking the field goal.

Of course that is what happened at the game I went to, maybe yall's was different.

Thank you! That's what I was saying. I was starting to wonder. BTW, I know #10 and his family and have for some time. Not only do I highly doubt that he would've said what the ref thought he did, he was a HUGE reason that Wylie made it as far as they. I can't even count how many timely interceptions he had this year, not to mention how many crucial receptions he had on offense. And he's never had a personal foul penalty caled on hm before.

He has plently of class Troybuilt. Any coach would gladly take a player with his heart and determination.

I have never posted here before and I would like to say that I have conclusive evidence on the 2-pt conversion, but from the Wylie sidelines it was impossible. I do have a few shots of the Prosper kicker #50 making signs to the Wylie sidelines. I suppose this is just one player out of hand and does not represent the whole team. Good luck to Prosper in the finals & thanks to the Wylie players for another great season!!
