Team City State Record Pvs.
1 Trinity Euless TX 13-0 1
Damien Hart scored two touchdowns as the Trojans got back to their powerful running game as they beat Arlington, 48-14, on Saturday at Texas Stadium. Trinity had 499 yards of offense, lead by Hart's 117 yards, Dontrayevous Robinson added 98 yards and a touchdown, and Tevin Williams ran for 87 yards and a touchdown.
2 St. Thomas Aquinas Ft Lauderdale FL 12-0 2
Aquinas put their seal on Broward County this season with a 49-8 pasting of Dillard. The Raiders have now taken care of business against the best Broward has to offer and will look to win back-to-back state 5A titles. Ryan Becker connected with Duron Carter, son of Cris Carter, on two of his four touchdown passes on the evening.
3 St. Ignatius Cleveland OH 14-1 5
Season complete: Ohio Division I State Champs. The Wildcats took advantage of the usual slow starting Elder squad and jumped out to a 21-0 lead. The defense bent but did not break in the second half and St. Ignatius held on for a 28-20 win.
4 Armwood Seffner FL 12-0 3
The Hawks cruised past Tampa Bay Tech 50-20 setting up a rematch with Plant. On the season Armwood has outscored opponents 470-76.
5 Centennial Corona CA 12-0 6
Corona Centennial held on to the No. 1 spot in California with a 41-14 victory over Vista Murrieta. in the second round of the playoffs. The Huskies will now take on Murrieta Valley on Friday.
6 Phoebus Hampton VA 14-0 11
Stock Rising The Phantoms make the Top 10 following a 38-8 dismantling of Stone Bridge. Phoebus jumped on the Bulldogs early and never looked back forcing six turnover, sacking the quarterback six times and holding Stone Bridge to eight points on Saturday. They are now one win away from winning a state title.
7 South Pointe Rock Hill SC 14-0 8
The Stallions are one step closer to a 4A-II state title following a 55-14 win over Laurens. South Pointe has already knocked off Northwesten once this season, but a victory is far from assumed. Too bad they can not battle 4A-I winner, Sumpter or Byrnes.
8 Poly Long Beach CA 12-0 9
This was another lackluster performance for Poly, who beat Esperanza 17-10. Esperanza has been very tough on defense all season but Poly was never able to dictate the game against the Aztecs.
9 Allen Allen TX 12-1 13
Even with star quarterback Matt Brown on the sidelines the Eagles were able to fly high in their 28-22 win over Permian. The victory sets up a rematch with top ranked Euless Trinity this week in Texas 5A football.
10 South Panola Batesville MS 14-0 10
South Panola is now one win away from 90 straight, and one win away from another Mississippi state title. After dispatching of Madison Central 24-21 it is only Meridian that stands in the Tigers way of perfection.

Awesome. Thanks. Wish it was just a list, but good to see 2 Texas teams in the top 10 with one being #1

and they play each other this week....

how big is that game? 2 of the top 10 high school teams in the country and one of them won't be a state champ...

gotta love Texas football!

Probably their biggest classification. Instead of 2 champions for class it's 1A-7A

That's what I was thinking. I see people from here complaining about how many state champs they have, but we have 10, and they most likely have 7... Granted, we have a MUCH bigger population too.

actually we have 12 state champions......class A is broken down into two divisions for 11 man and 2 more for six man.

and that is just for public schools.............illinios allows private schools to play with publics.
