What State Titles has your High School Won? [Archive]

I don't know if this has been brought up before or not. Just wanted to see what State Titles your hometown have brought home. I know Sinton has won 3 in Basball('88, '89, '02), 1 in Basketball('96), and atleast 4 in Academic Decathlon. If I forgot any or add more than I should have, please let me know. What about your school?

Winnsboro Girl's 3a Basketball Championships 1999,2000,2001. Would like to make it four in the last 6 years. :p :p :p :)

Went to state in basketball in '71... Won the state track meet in '88...

Golf has gone to state the last 3 years...

Football won state in '73, '74 and '87 while losing at state in '70, '75, '85, '86, '93 and '98...

Barbers Hill has 3 in Girls Basketball ('82,'83, & '97). State Co-Champs in Football '71 State Champs in Football '76

Lets see...Everman won a 4A state title in boys track in 1995...in 2000 they won a 3A title in Girls Track...in 2001 and 2002 they won state in 3A football...and in 2002 they won state in boys basketball..and in 1984 I believe they went to the state tourney in baseball in Class 4A

Forney won the very first slide rule championship back in, i believe, 1954 ... no kidding

I won state for Forney in UIL Headline Writing last year! (I also let QB Caleb Hanie try on my medal so he could help Forney win another one!)

Jasper boys state track championships in 1975, 1985, 1991, and 1997. Girls in 1991, same night as the boys.

At least two or three state championships in boys power lifting but I forget the years.

i havent been at wylie very long...but i was here when the track, tennis, and golf team won state...track team was the team that had John Lampert on it now playing football at Purdue.

Baytown Sterling....have numerous Water Polo 5a State Championships (i am not sure the amount)...including 2002 where the girls and boys both won the title....i dunno if they have anymore
hehe...i know no one cares....but yah go Rangers! kickin Water Polo butt!

yah....they have water polo at SOME 5a schools.....becoming more and more common esp. at that level....i havent heard of a 4a water polo team but i wouldnt be surprised if a richer 4a school has one somewhere....baytown sterling is basically SouthEast houston...they have water polo...

Sinton also had a girl that won State in the 80s in the shot put or discus. I am not sure about which one or her name but her picture is in the trophy case.

Stacy Medlock is the girl that won the shot/disc for sinton. April Yeats also medaled in state track in hurdles...if we get into the regional titles.... I OWN 2. . .hehe... BTW... Sinton only has 3 Academic Decathlon titles.

Decatur:
1999-(3A) Girls Cross Country State Champs
2002-(3A) Boys Cross Country State Champs

I know we've had some individual winners as well. We might have had some more teams that won state in some other sport, I don't know. (I'm not much of a Decatur High School history buff) Those state victories were just during my high school tenure so that's how I know about them. We came close in softball and were competetive in every thing else. Now if the football team can just follow the lead of the successfull CC programs.

La Grange Football 1975 2A 2000 3A Baseball 2000-2001. Interestingly, in both football and baseball that year La Grange played Forney in close games for the title. I would like to see Forney win in 3A DI this year as they deserve it. That football game was the most exciting game I ever witnessed with all the drama of a great movie and head to head performances from Tye Gunn and D'Bryan Blanton. Wow!! :D
