the wnba does give hope to female basketball players to further their career after college.
Wonder why the Rockets won't take over, the spurs run the silver stars.

Never went to a WNBA game, but once when I was in Houston for business, the hotel (Adams Mark) gave me a free ticket when i checked into the Hotel. It was for the Texas Championship - Woman's body building Championship. That was something to see. I was there for a while and then left and went to sit in the bar. Couldn't handle seeing women that could beat my a**.

I think the Rockets prefer making money rather than losing it. But this is sad news for up and coming women basketball players. I think they can still make pretty decent money playing in Europe though.

A lot of the best women's basketball players go to Russia and play during the winter for contracts worth 500k or more. The rich Russian owners there don't care about making a dime off their teams. They just want to win.

I have Swin Cash on my list of women's players I'll tune in and watch if there's nothing else I want to do. I have no problem sitting down and watching her and Candace Parker play along with a few others. :)

I'm not a fan of the WNBA, but this news comes as a real shock to me...I never would imagine one of the league's cornerstone franchises being the one to go...I'd figure that someone who owns another franchise would buy the one in Houston or something.

The owner of the Rockets used to own the Comets, sold them last year, so that could be why they won't take them over.

I think that the WNBA and womens basketball in general should lower the basket to nine feet. People love to watch the above the rim type of game. Alot of fans dont want to see good basketball the want to see dunks and shots being blocked etc. I bet the popularity would really take off. Of course they could always do what they do in other female sports and make them sex symbols. Well some of them you know like Sue Bird, Sue Bird, and Sue Bird.
