True, but I heard Wylie had recievers wide open several times and just couldnt hit them, or they would just drop it. I'm just saying that passing is probably the best chance of success against the LH defense.

So far this half, Vernon has done a good job of limiting the huge play, but we seem to be ripping off 7-8 yard runs with ease. I say we break some long ones in the second half.

Not really. It's not a secret that our pass defense isn't as strong as our run defense, but not everyone that tries to pass has success, especially when they are predominantly running team like Vernon.

Personally, I prefer the old cheerleader taped together paper signs stapled to 2x4s. Tunnels were kind of cool when the first ones came out, but now that nearly everybody has one, I think old school is the cool way to go. Tunnels just dont impress me anymore.

The QB has also been under a lot of pressure trying to pass, including a fumble. If you completely abandon the run, that pressure will probably get worse.

i am proud of Vernon, they hung tough for a couple of quaters. if they get two 4th downs this is more like 31-21 which is a great showing for vernon . LH is just the new Sealy and will be hard to stop. Bridgeport might have their number though, it looks like the passing game is the way to beat them and Bridgeport is a great passing team.

Vernon did a good job of preventing the big play, playing more of a bend-but-don't-break defense. We still moved the ball with relative ease...it just took a little longer to score which ate up a lot of clock. I thought our offense played well, scoring on every drive expect the last one of each half and rushing for over 400 yards.

I thought our defense played well, too, holding Vernon to around 170 total yards. The Lions showed us some things we hadn't seen from them on film, so we did a pretty good job of making in game adjustments. It'll be interesting to see if Sweetwater sticks to their bread and butter and runs the ball or if they, too, will try to find some success through the air.

Passing is probably the way to beat us, but we've only given up over 150 yards through the air three times this year (98 today). In two of those games it was over 400 and we still won, so it will take more than being able to throw the ball to knock us off. For three years now, that has been the way most teams have tried to beat us. While many have had some success, we've gotten our fair share of sacks and interceptions, too. A couple of picks is generally enough for our offense to get the win.

You never know, the GreenMonster is a very elusive creature. Some even say that the GreenMonster is a mythical creature! (GASP!!! :1omg!: ) Those involved in GreenMonster sightings often times are out for fame and fortune and have even been known to produce photoshopped pictures depicting a large green hideous creature similar in size and shape to the Loch Ness Monster and possibly Puff the Magic Dragon. Any such sighting or photo should be held in question and reported immediately to the local authorities to investigate and potentially call in the FBI for a more in depth investigation.

That was the last play of the Burnet /Liberty Hill game with about 11 seconds left in the contest and Liberty Hill, trailing, threw the "Hail Mary" to the endzone....which was tipped and then caught for the Panther Victory...

needless to say we were excited in the booth...and yes it sounds like a wild animal is gnawing at my broadcast partners leg...

What a great game by the Panthers. Although I listened to the game instead of watching it -- it was still a treat to listen to a team that has had so much success. Our radio crew from Vernon were very respectful to the Panthers and gave the team a lot of props especially the offensive tackles.

I knew that the Lions had a down year this year, but to make the playoffs and compete was impressive. Clearly the Panthers were a much better team, but our coach who is notorious for stealing plays so to speak from the opposition may take a play or two from the LH playbook. Since our offensive philosophies are similar maybe next year we can use that to help us.

Good luck to your team. Oh, not too much luck because I have grown to really admire the Sweetwater Mustangs over the years. Here is to a close and exciting game next week!
