From the information that I can find on the net, they are an offensive machine. This is going to be a great test for the Tigers. I believe in the Tigers. Tigers is a defensive struggle 17-14! Go TIGERS!

Rockdale won't hold Carthage to 14 in my opinion. I think Rockdale is going to have to score 35 to win this game (which I think they have a shot at doing). Carthage has a D1 prospect at running back who is very good they have a pretty solid Tight end as well and their quarterback is also a good player. The offensive line is big and knows how to move people around. Against Diboll I saw them throw some tight end screens and the line got out and got after the Diboll defense in the open field.

However, Ill be there with a former 2 year Rockdale starter supporting the Tigers I really hope they can pull the upset.

Rockdale faced two D1 backs in Dexter Pratt and Chris Whaley to a combined 149 and zero touchdowns.

Rockdale continues improve as their players get more experience playing together. They are a very young team with some great senior leaders. Look for big plays from the Tiger defensive line to be the key in this one.

Rockdale by 9 in a good game.

Rockdale 31
Carthage 22

By the foruth quarter, Rockdale's strength will wear Carthage down. The Tigers will come away with a win against a great Carthage team. District 24 is used to playing with and against D1 prospects, so that alone is not an issue.

navasota = multiple threats, will take what you give them rushing/passing and good defense, madisonville = whaley was the only threat, no o-lilne, no fb, no qb, no defense, cleveland = running threat only, good defense, rockdale = multiple threats rushing/passing/receiving and a pretty good defense. carthage must have multiple threats and good defense to have a chance; of course, limit mistakes and turnovers and it could be any team's game in the playoffs. "every week can change the season" best of luck to all.

Carthage is the real deal on offense, and they have a tough swarming defense. Their O is way better than their D, though. I think Rockdale can score on Carthage. IMO, if there is a team that can slow the Bulldog offense down, it is without a doubt Rockdale. I am pulling for the Tigers all the way, but I think Carthage gets this one. GO Rockdale!!!

Carthage 21, Rockdale 20.

I know nothing of Rockdale, but I can tell you I am a Gilmer fan and right now Carthage is the best 3a team in east texas. THey have a duel threat quaterback, a running back that is very fast, and a offensive line that is huge. The defense is not that great, but there not bad. Whoever beats them will needto score in the 30's at least because I don't see anyone holding em to less then 28 in the playoffs.

Well I watched the game film of Carthage last night. I must say that their offense really impressed me. I see weaknesses but it will be quite a challenge to stop them. Their defense is good but showed more holes than their offense. This should certainly be the best offense that Rockdale has faced since Navasota. I can't wait to see this one. Go Tigers!

I believe! I bet Nic gets 15 tackles and an INT in this one - Mark it down! I know how good Carthage is this year, but I still have faith that Rockdale can play lights out defense. It will be tough, but the Tigers can do it. Go Rockdale!

The past few weeks have made me appreciate the fans from Caldwell and Navasota a lot more. Very class fans from both schools to support their district foes as they have seen the hard fought battles between each other and appreciate the hard work of those young men have invested and support their continued success. Good luck to the Rattlers against La Vega.

I got Carthage 35-21.......... The bulldogs are playing really good football right now, and haven't lost to a 3a team yet.

Carthage's RB Smith finished with 190 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries

Smith had 127 yards and three scores on 12 carries in the first half.

Pratt and Whaley are awesome. Smith is good but he has a great line making things happen for him.

Unfortunately for me I was unable to attend this game due to illness, but I did listen to it on the radio, and it seemed that our Tigers ran into a team that was just better than they were. That happens in the game of football. My hats off to the Carthage Bullsdogs, their kids, and their staff. Good job fellows and good luck the rest of the way in the playoffs. To our Tigers, it was a great season, there were many memories that I enjoyed this year. To the Seniors good luck in life. I really enjoyed watching you all play this year. I think that Coach Miller and his staff should be comended on their success. In three short years we have gone from 3-7 to Regional Finalist. That's pretty good success in my book. We will be back next year.
