ANNA — The Anna school board was set to discuss a resignation agreement with athletic director Chris Dodd during Thursday night’s regular meeting.
“I just feel like it’s the right time,” Dodd said. “I prayed about it. I evaluated my situation, and I decided it was in the best interest of my family to move on.”
Dodd said the decision to leave Anna was entirely his.
“I was not directed or encouraged to leave,” he said. “It was my decision, and I’m leaving on my terms. I have a peace about it.”
Dodd took over the program to start the 2005-06 school year. The first season, the Coyotes beat previously-undefeated Whitewright in overtime to end a 24-year playoff drought.
The program failed to match its early success during the last three seasons, however, finishing 0-10 in 2008.
