Take your pick.

1. Mix of smashmouth and Misdirection, threaten 3 holes everyplay, clock consuming offense, that average 400 yds/game.

2. Lighting fast, physical defense that is allowing less than 6 points/game.

Friday night in Woodlands to settle the bet.

i would say the D will stop them cause when bellville played caldwell they didnt have much offense...but that was the first game

Minor point here... but the WOS defense calls themselves the "Chain Gang" defense.

It's not gonna matter what offense/defense is run......

WOS by at least 2 TDs.

If Caldwell thinks they're so great lets see if they can back it up against a team that is better than them in every way. But I hope WOS puts Caldwell out for good.

Pheeeeew! I smell rotten feelings. Could it be because Caldwell beat Cameron for a playoff spot? (On a mysteriously flooded field to give Caldwell the advantage)

Face it, Caldwell is a very good team that when all the cylinders are firing, can play good football against any team. Will they beat WOS, maybe. Can they beat WOS, yes.

Caldwell will have to have a near perfect game and get some breaks to bounce their way, but that is the name of the game in playoff football. Very seldom is there a true blowout type game at this stage of the playoffs. Every team has to hope that any breaks fall in their favor or the game can quickly get out of hand.

In the past 34 consecutive games (dating back to the 2005 Semifinal loss to Wimberley) WO-S has held EVERY opponent to 3 TD's or less. No other 3A team in the state can come anywhere close to a streak like that.

...and all but 4 of those 34 to 2 TD's or less (with all 4 being extremely quick teams)

#3 ranked Giddings '06 scored 21
Jasper '07 scored 21
#1 ranked Giddings '07 scored 19
#6 ranked Waco La Vega '07 scored 20

Unless we have another Wimberley '05 type team lurking out there in the playoff brackets this year (which there very well could be) I have to stick to my prediction that the streak will continue.

Coach Thompson, in my opinion, is the best defensive coordinator in the state in 3A and it's not even close. If they could ever have an offensive coordinator to just come close to what he brings to the table defensively they'd be playing in the state championship game on an annual basis.

This is so true.I have always said a team as to have a little luck along the way if they want to advance in the playoffs. The only team that didn't need it imo was the '83 Dangerfield team.

Case in point.WO-S / Silsbee game.
We were tied at 7 with under a minute to play.Silsbee hit a big play that put the ball inside wo-s 10 yrd line. They had no time outs and when they came to the line there were about 15 seconds. The qb got confused with all the hurry up and instead of spiking the ball he knelt it.That break inabled wo-s to win district and stay undefeated in district sense we moved down to 3A.There is no doubt in my mind that Silsbee kicks the field goal to win had that not happened. But we will never know.

From seeing WOS' defense, they are very interesting and i do believe they will be able to hold Caldwell's Offense. Caldwell plays good on offense with mainly just the run but yea they can throw the ball. Should be a good game but i do see WOS pulling this one out.

Liberty Hill has won 35 in a row......thats a pretty good streak.

Liberty Hill has a great winning streak going, but I think WOS87 was talking about a "defensive points allowed" streak.....

WOS too much for the Hornets... Speed kills and that DC has been around a while, they do what they do and they been doin it well year after year. I was lucky enough to watch Giddings shut that Hornet Slot down last year and I think it will happen again this year verses WOS. AND, WOS this year is much better than that Giddings team from last year...and Hornets aren't as strong as last years team.... 2 + 2 = WOS Double Digit Win

I think Silverback understood what 87 was saying...Just stating that LH had a streak of their own going.

I have to say, that 2005 Wimberley team was the beast I have ever seen in person at the 3A level.

Beat us 62-7 and we were pretty good. That should tell you how good they were.

Yes, it was a little "streak humor" is all. WOS streak is very impressive.......but did you know that the LH defense has a 35 game streak of holding the opposing team to less points than the LH offense scores! Yuk Yuk
