If teams with the Bye come out ready to play and win! Will it help or hurt those teams with the bye playing another team all ready with a playoff win! Going to be interesting.

I think the Bulls would rather have not had the BYE in Rd1 this year. They are healthy and were rolling along pretty well at the end of the regular season. Will it hurt?---I'll let you know Sat. night about 9:00.

Yes it will be very interesting. When was the last time teams had first round byes? Where is WOS87 when you need him? I bet he could tell us the % of teams that won or lost their games after a playoff bye. :nerd: :D

I was thinking about that the other day, JU. I understand the need for bye week during the regular season, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. One of the things I like less is having two in the same season. :D (See '06 & '07)

Very tough on basketball teams with the bye, one year almost 3/4's of the district champs with the byes lost. Now, in football not all teams are district champs, but will it hurt still.

Could work for you if you needed the extra week to heal up or prepare for a team you have never played.

The healing time is great if a team needs it, but unless your next opponent is a straight-up prohibitive favorite to win their playoff game, you still don't know which team to prepare for until 1 week prior to your game.

It will be funny next year when a team with a bye this year talks about making it to the 2nd round!

ha... or a team this year or next justifies strength in their schedule because a team they played this year is still in the playoffs and/or a team they play next year was a second-round caliber playoff team last year...

I would much rather play than have a bye. The playoffs are faster and there is more pressure. Any experience that you can get goes a long way.

I would think anyone would want two weeks to prepare for Liberty Hill.

D 29 for sure had the bye week blues, Bandera was on a roll until the bye and loses to La Feria? Devine, granted toss up vs Rio Hondo but loses, Pearsall, well I picked them to lose

As of now teams with a bye in the first round are 3-7 in the second round!

We killed ourselves last night against La Feria. 3-INT's,1-fumble(inside our 15 yard line), 2 dropped sure TD's,2 dropped INT's.....the list goes on forever. We were flat and La Feria played with much more intensity. Conrats to La Feria again.

The Bye teams are 4-5. I don't think the BYE matters all that much. Sometimes it's who you are playing. Remember, with the Bye, you get teams playing in the second round that probably would have otherwise lost in round one. Looking at the matchups, there were four teams that really didn't live up to the Massey Rating predictions. On the other hand, two outperformed the predictions.

Dist. Team (line) Result
