I really would love to pick an upset in this one. Brownsboro usually is good for a surprise in the playoffs. But I can't.

La Vega 32
Brownsboro 13

Thank you, ma'am!:) Is there a webcast for this game? Listening to Abilene Cooper now, but I'm a multi-tasker....;)

Brownsboro D played tough until La Vega's last offensive series of the first half produced a TD with 2 seconds left and a 2 point conversion which gave them a 14-7 lead, and the momentum. Brownsboro's linemen on both sides were scrappy but small and Le Vaga's size turned out to be too much. In the second half the Pirates were able to grind it out on the ground then began moving the ball through the air. Brownsboro had enough. La Vega's linemen won this game without a doubt on both sides. An interesting note. La Vega fans seemed to be obsessed with a China Spring rematch. If China Spring has some physical linemen and anything that resembles a passing game China Spring could administer a hide tanning on La Vega. Especially if they are able to mix it up and not be predictable like Brownsboro was. The Brownsboro O showed some success in the air even though the O line was on their heels.

Interesting post about China Spring. We have the biggest most physical line we have had in many years. This is the main reason Coach Bell has run the ball more out of a tight set with a wing back.

On the other side, Brian Bell (Coach's son and little brother of the best Baylor QB of all time Sean Bell) has really exploded as a passer. You have Hicks as an obvious treat, then the have Vaselka, Meador, and Hogeda as threats to take one back every time.

We are obsessed with a rematch as well. However, we know that a lot has to happen on both sides to get to that point.

Go Cougars.
