I ended up not going to the game. My daughter in law wound up going to the ER, so I was stuck with grandbaby duty...everything is fine though!

Lots closer than some of the predictions I saw:

Greenwood - 35
Pecos - 32

Sorry if there is another thread on this....I looked but didn't see one!

Sounds like Pecos may have beat themselves:

Greenwood survived for a 35-32 victory over Pecos in the bi-district round Class 3A Division II playoffs at Grande Communications Stadium on Thursday night.

Greenwood (7-4) advances to play the winner of Friday's Sweetwater/Dalhart game in the area round.

Pecos (4-7) missed two critical extra point kicks and a two-point conversion right before the half, which proved to be the difference.

Pecos outgained Greenwood 399-309 and had 22 first downs to Greenwood's 13.

Kinsey Williams led the Rangers with 189 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 28 carries.

Hector Ramirez had 183 yards rushing and one TD for Pecos.

WOW, congratulations RM but the Tigers beat that same team 48-0 for homecoming this year.

That's great and it has ABSOLUTELY ZERO to do with Greenwood's game tonight.

Monahans beat them 42-13 on their field, food for thought.

Pecos came out ready to play. Halfback pass on the 2nd play of the game for a TD. That fired them up.

Greenwood fought back and had a chance to take a 21-12 lead at half but they went for it on 4th and 1 on their own 10 yard line with 1:52 left to play in the half and Pecos stopped them. Pecos then scored and it was 21-18 at half.

Greenwood led by 10 twice in the 2nd half but each time Pecos marched down the field and scored.

I thought offensively Greenwood did very well. Defensively they struggled to stop Pecos' running game.

2 missed XP and 1 missed 2 point conversion were the difference. Gotta' give credit to Pecos for their game plan. They gambled a few times and most of the time it paid off.

Good job to the Rangers for holding on and never giving up.

Pecos is a very very well coached team.
Congratulations to Coach Henson and his staff, I am proud for them. Certainly nothing for them to be embarassed about.
