not reall sure what's going on in the land of the Apaches :( They do have a new coach (not blaming him by any means just making that comment) when they played Cuero, I believe they had 2 key players out (not sure if they were out previous games) They beat Edna in a very emotional and close game 23-22 (I think) and the coach discovered a few days later a player who had been passing/eligible on Weds wasn't passing/eligible on Friday (last day of the grading period) and he overlooked it so he immediately made the necessary phone calls and they had to forfeit that game. I think that pretty much knocked the wind out of their sails. Tough lesson for a young coach but he was a stand up guy and reported it ASAP instead of waiting. I bet he never makes that mistake again. Hopefully they'll rebound next year and get back on track. They had such a good season last year (I don't remember the exact score but it seems they lost the Division I Region IV Finals to Pleasanton either in OT or in the last minute of the game :(
Not sure what happened to Palacios either- They went 0-5 in District this year - they played Cuero for the Div 2 Regional IV Finals in 2007.

Could someone post info on Poteet? Size, players to watch, etc. I don't have a clue about these guys. Then again, I guess that is the coaches job?

poteet beat marion 41-40 for third place so they should be the same caliber of marion. i heard they scored a late 62 yard pass on marion to secure the win. yoakum needs to cut out all those needless penalities they had against goliad.. 130 yards in penalities want get you a win in the playoffs very often.

From what I've heard, Poteet has some speed on offense - receiver Ramos, RBs Hebert and Santos, and QB Sanchez all are fast. If any of them break away, it's almost impossible to catch them. Defensively I haven't heard any particular name mentioned as a standout - it seems their strength is definitely their speed on offense.

Yoakum should win this game, Yoakum has a good running back that has gotten better each week, if the receivers can hang on to the ball and the defense plays solid Yoakum wins this game big.
