Since we don''t have many/any Goliad or La Vernia posters - I figured I'd do a poll for them. Goliad making a marked improvment this year and making the playoffs going up against a very big and strong La Vernia team. I think the blue and white team wins :)

I have seen La Vernia play.

That's all it takes for my vote.

La Vernia wins.

It's a tough draw for Goliad. That's why they should have taken care of business against Yoakum. ;)

A Poteet/Goliad game might have been a bit more competitive.

Good Luck Tigers!

Just don't see anyway they come out on top and especially against a team like LaVernia...:thinking:I'll take them Bears in this one

Best of luck to both teams...

I haven't seen Goliad play this year so I don't really know anything about them other than I've heard that Franklin is hard to contain. I have seen La Vernia play this year, and I think their defense can probably hold him in check, so I'm going with LV.

Congrats to both teams for making the playoffs, and good luck!

La Vernia is too big, strong & fast for the Tigers.

yeah, I missed the LaVernia/Cuero game, so I don't know much about them other than they are well coached and well disciplined...believe they can win a few...

Any updates on this contest? The winner of the Bellville / Wharton game will meet the winner in the area round. Just looking at the records and opponents, it looks like LaVernia should be a heavy favorite.

I take La Vernia, but that number 10 is amazing. He's really good. Now if number 20 and 22 would stop all the dirty play, Goliad might (slim) have a shot!!

Head Coach Bo Robinson is a hell of a football coach. Coached over here at 2A Bangs and took 'em to back to back state championship games. Don't know what they were like before he got there (he hasn't been there long) but he's got that program looking good from what I hear. Beat Cuero & Wimberly this season right? My vote goes to La Vernia. Give 'em hell Coach Bo!

La Vernia too big and strong for Goliad. The Tigers will be fired up, but so will the Bears.

La Vernia - 35
Goliad - 13

Good Luck Tigers!

Gee, guess Wharton shouldn't even make the trip to El Campo then, according to you!

If LaVernia will extend a hand and pick ya'll up off the field then that will be the only positive for Goliad.
LaVernia 56-0

I have not seen La Vernia. Here is a question for those who have. What is their O mostly: passing, running to the outside w/ speed, or running straight ahead w/ power? (Don't say all the above note mostly)

HSF78 - are the kids excited/pumped up for the playoffs?

In defense of MARKWAYNE, no one say La Vernia beating Cuero? Anything can happen in the playoffs. QB or Running back could get hurt in the 1st Q. I'd like to see a good game here. I'll take D28, Cuero, Yoakum and Goliad.
