By beating Ok State 56-20, and Alabama barely beating LSU, does anybody think Tech will leap frog Alabama into the number 1 spot?
I actually hope we dont until after Tech beats Ou.

I don't believe we will just yet.

Well i personally don't think Tech will take the number one spot. The medias love affair with the SEC will probably keep them number one. Its tough to drop a team from number 1 who just beat the defending national champions on their home field, even if that team is struggling a little. Although it is quite hard to deny how impressive the Raiders have been this year.

I think they made a statement tonight. At least they control their destiny! I hope they beat the pants off of OU! I am not a Sooner after the put up 60+ on my Aggs today!

Yes! But, I would not worry about that! Just win the next two. And everything will take care of it's self.

just like herbstreit said...tech fans need to stop worrying about the number 1 spot. be worried about the number 2 spot. Tech controls its own destiny as long as they win out the are in

Ask USC, and OSU (TWICE) how much it means to be number one in the BCS standings in the national championship.

if Tech isnt carefuly, they will get knocked off of everything. Like it has been said before, just keep winning. You no longer have anything to worry about.

That being said, I think OU makes this whole situation nasty and gets a W from TT. Then its a three way tie. Who goes? how does the Big 12 South do that?

yep you are right...a 2 way tie goes heads up record and a 3 way tie sends the higher bcs ranking...texas needs ALOT to happen....I personally think one if these outcomes happens...Tech wins and plays in the championship or OU beats Tech and then wins out

I agree that UT has to have a lot for them to make it. They hurt themselves in that they refuse to run up the score. They could have won by at least two more tds against Baylor but they played their reserves early and Baylor got a third td and UT didn't get anymore even though one of them was called back by a useless hold. UT has to just concentrate on beating Kansas which is always tough and then the Aggies who have beaten them two straight years and let things fall as they may.

UT's biggest issue is that not only could they be in a tie and get left out of the NC, They could get left out of the BCS entirely as only 2 teams from a conference can go. PSU and WV would go BCS above one of TT, OU and UT. That is a shame.

A loss hurt them just as much, or maybe more.

Tech will not be number 1 because of the Alabama win against a quality program. The pollsters don't pay much attention at all to big scores when the Southeast school keep winning against each other.

Tech really impressed me last night with the high emotion even after a emotional game against Texas. If they keep up that intensity, not only will they be in the National Championship game, they will win. That game against OK LITE was the most complete example of execution, intensity, and preparation I have seen in College Football in several years.

It's been a fun ride for Tech fans this year watching them get all this national exposure. They looked REALLY good last night. I hope it carries over to Norman in 2 weeks.

made a believer here! Scrappy Defense and I just can't see how a team stops that offense. An all world defensive line maybe, but Tech's line and how fast Harrell gets the ball out is almost not fair haha

As a Big XII fan, I hope Tech leap frogs Alabama. But like most said already, it is not likely but possible. Then it will make for a BIG showdown in Norman in 2 weeks. Tech showed how tough they can be at home last night. We will see if that success can continue on the road.

:D :D :D Texas had to go to Lubbock, Tech gets Norman. Only thing not checked off for this Tech team, can they win a big game away as Jarrett Lee just did, I'm sorry, Bama! :D

Funny, just a few weeks ago Tech was getting bashed for taking a timeout at the end of the game and running the score up on A&M.

TT having to go to OU to play the biggest game in TT history, against a great program and head coach that has 2 solid weeks to slice and dice and prepare, is going to be a huge undertaking to say the least. But TTs defense has really stepped up in a big way this season. The TT offense will put up the points for sure, but as well as the defense has played, they'll have to play even better to win this one. I think they can, but it'll be a tall order for sure.

I find it very sad that TT is "STILL" 2nd in BCS after what they have showed the whole country. Cant see how Alabama could stay on the same field with the Red Raiders if they played. But you still have the crazy media that cant find a way to put em were they belong. And this is comming from a UT fan.

I see it this way in the end.
after OU wins at home over TT they will leap over UT in the BCS and take the 3 way tiebreaker in south and go on and beat Mizzo in big 12 championship game. Florida will jump in BCS after they win in SEC championship over Alabama. And both OU and Florida will play in Florida for all the marbles.

This is one time I agree with the BCS rankings except Tech should probably be No. 1. Still not a bad job.

If OU gets an ugly win at home versus Tech,I think the Horns may stay ahead of them based on their win in Dallas.
At least I hope they do.

That Red Raider Offensive Line is the best I've seen.

I just wanted to quote you on that before the thread gets locked.

Kansas traded td's with OU in Norman in the first half and only lost 45-31.
Tech thumped Kansas at Lawrence (homecoming) 63-21.
We will see.

We will see. Texas Tech had to beat Nebraska in overtime at home. OU beat Nebraska 62-28 at home. None of the compare scores stuff matters.

ok my two cents....ou beats tech...three way tie ou to championship game...missouri beats ou.....missouri and tech go bcs........and texas to cotton....ou....to holiday........................in all honesty....i hope tech wins out and plays in the national championship and makes mockery of the game by scoring.....60+ points.
