Yep that's quite a battle of the backs. Y'all had to know this was going to be pretty lopsided.

must be a real disappointing year for whaley.....surprised he got only 60+/- yards and they managed 3 scores on you guys, were they mop up scores...

the whaley kid was disappointed, but he's a player and will get another shot at running the ball behind a little bit of talent 8 months from now. he also had a 50 yd touchdown called back. navasota was too physical and too fast for that madisonville front line to handle, much less the entire team, definitely men among boys. navasota ends the season 9-0. it had been 6 years since the rattlers have enjoyed a vic over the mustangs. best of luck in the playoffs.

Navasota was all over Whaley all night. Pratt had his 212 on 17 carries and Whaley had his 68 on 19 carries. Masdisonville scored two first quarter touchdowns on play action passes. The third was a mop up against mostly secondteam Rattlers.

Don't take anything away from Whaley though, he is a great back and ran hard, even though he was playing with a broken had. You could see he was playing with alot of pain. He has very little blocking and makes what he makes on his own most of the time.

He will be a force in the next level no doubt.

Great game for the Rattlers.

The score was tied at 14 with 5:00 left in the first quarter. Both teams had quick scores, and both of Madisonville's were play action sweeps with Whaley as the decoy before he had ever even carried the ball. They made the Rattler defense look silly both times. Brock Taylor outjumped the Rattler defender on the first touchdown, making the catch over his head. I don't know why Madisonville hasn't used this style of play more, but it works.

On another note, when the Rattlers tackled Whaley the last time, and mind you they were popping him hard every time they made contact with him, he got up holding his right calf, limping off the field on his own. As he came to the sideline, with less that 3 minutes left in the game, I was expecting the Mustang fans to give the boy a round of applause, since he will never set foot on a football field again as a Mustang. It didn't happen. I clapped for him.
