It is a little suspect. If they lose, they get to go to Division 1. We are excited because we will get them opportunity to possibly play them in the state finals if we both make it that far.

I was under the impression that they would be Division 1 unless Robinson made the playoffs. :thinking:

It's stupid of them if they didn't try to win. You shouldn't worry about what division you're going to be in. You should show some integrity for the sake of the game, the kids and the fans. Don't know why you would throw a game.

I certainly have no idea who goes or doesn't go Div 1 or 2 in this district and really have no idea if LV lost the game on purpose to meet up or NOT meet up with a certain team 3 or so weeks down the road, but if it's true they did throw the game - talk about risky business!! I am sure the speculation will be thrown out there but I really can't imagine a coach throwing a game. I suppose it happens but it takes all credibility away from the coach. Integrity is something earned and I just can't imagine a coach risking losing his integrity.......

To throw a kink into this entire situation, Looks like Liberty Hill is going D1. With the Wimberly win, I think Burnet is out.

That would make for a Liberty Hill vs China spring game in round 1.

So, D1 looked good earlier tonight, now it looks like the toughest by far of the 2 divisions!

I am not sure if Burnet made it or not. Waco trib says they have, but as I see it there is a 3 way tie. We will see!

From what I've gathered they weren't really trying to win this game and apparently had no plan to play the starters that long tonight. I was told by one of their fans that the JV QB played the 2nd half.

It appears at the moment that MODOC wanted to push Robinson (enrollment of 742) out of the playoffs and move to the D1 bracket, thus avoiding a loaded DII bracket. Without Robinson in there they are the big school in the district between them (650), Mexia (592) and Lorena (480).

Well I can't say that I like what they did. I'm just showing what happened tonight and why it was done.

I'd imagine that the meeting to select the all-district team is going to be a tense one.

La Vega is D1. Robinson was the only one that could have went to D1. However, with a La Vega loss, Robinson is out and Lorena is in. So, La Vega is D1.

it was a piss poor game....it was real clear what they were doing....they wouldnt make it in hollywood as actors....alot off people were mad tonight...they want willie fired....they down graded the second team...the boys look like they were enjoying it on the sidelines...

I don't doubt one bit that Coach Williams knew exactly what he was doing. There's really no other explanation that would hold water. They intentionally lost this game and that's just, well, that's just bad to do that.

I talked to one of the West fans tonight and he said Lorena was not a good team at all. Before he even called some LaVega fans to find out what happened he was already pretty sure about what happened and why due to the enrollment situation with Robinson.

The coach should be disciplined if they threw the game. If you're that good of a team, you be afraid to play anyone. The fans should have their money refunded. The players along with the fans should be insulted by this.
