Been a pretty good game so far. Friendswood is the most unconventional team I've ever seen...all sorts of funky formations, going for it on 4th down, etc....

Friendswood's D is unable to stop La Marque's running game....La Marque is running all over them.

La Marque is unable to limit the big plays of Friendswood's "strike fast" offense.

Just a side note......

They just said that La Marque has made the playoffs every year since 1989 and has won 5 state champs. along the way. To make the playoffs this year, they have to win tonight against Friendswood and need Manvel to lose to Angleton tomorrow night. YIKES! La Marque's playoff streak may come to an end tonight......Calallen will like to hear that.

Man, what is going on in La Marque. Down year, yes, I know. But, hardly any fans at the game with them trying to get into the playoffs. And, whats up with their band? There appeared to be no more that 40 people in their band and they sounded horrible. This isn't the same La Marque Cougar Pride that I remember.:(

This isn't the same La Marque Cougar Pride that I remember.:( Yup...no kidding...was just telling the wife about them....had a friend that had taken a coaching job there last year I believe....new HC came in and dismissed everyone and brought in his own guys from what I understand....I'm betting he doesn't have a job after this season. Also...yes the band sounded HORRIBLE...a lot of dancing around, but didn't sound very good.

The La Marque Cougars miss the playoffs for the first time in 19 years after losing tonight to Friendswood 69 to 48. The game was a lot closer than that for 3 quarters....in the 4th Friendswood pulled away. La Marque is a young team...Freshman QB, Freshman RB, etc....but not sure that'll be a good enough excuse to save the HC's job.

I'm still surprised he got the job in the first place. His teams at Kimball consistently underachieved in the playoffs and the majority of his 52 wins in his tenure there were against some of the weaker teams in DISD.
