Maybe some of you Brownwood guys can answer this.Ive wondered this about Graham as well.Looking back on the season do you think some of the guys on offense should have went both ways?Or do you think it would have hurt offensive production to much?Does it take that much of a toll to say have five or six guys going both ways in 3a?

Sweetwater always has 5 or 6 going both ways. We're 8-1 and playing for the district title, and headed to the playoffs. I'd say yea, it can make a big difference. Gotta put your best 11 on the field, at least most of the time. Certain situations should give some breathers.

IMO, if Brownwood has a D-1 OL prospect, then that kid should be able to take some snaps as DL. Not saying that the player needs to play 75-80% of the defensive snaps, but anybody in 3A that has that kind of talent needs to be utilized.
Both Brownwood and Graham run the spread, and that can make it difficult for the players that are at the skill positions to play both ways.

At times he has played on both sided of the ball. He has also been banged up and that has limited his play.

I am a big fan of putting you best 11 on the field, however if you can run two units it is probably more beneficial to your team.

I like when coaches work other 2nd string players into the game with 1st string players. This usually gives the 2nd string player a chance to play at 1st team speed and before you know it he is able to hold his own. For example: Put you back up tackle in with the rest of the 4 lineman and let him run a series or two. Then the starter he is in for can run defense as well. Do this throughout the game and this gives more kids a chance to play and gain experiance.

What do you want to know? Like if they could stop someone from scoring everytime they touched the ball they wouldn't be crying about wanting to fire the coach. The coach is only as good as his players. Players go both ways all the time in 3a. Alot of teams just don't have the numbers to put 11 different players out there for offense and defense. I'm sure that Brownwood does, but you have to put your best athletes out on the field at all times.

when brownwood played wylie i saw #7 come in a catch a long TD pass then never get in on another offensive play, if hes that big of a playmaker he should have been going both ways

Yeah, he played defense against us too. Every time he threw a pick, he turned into a def. player.:taunt:
