The Houston Texans' highly-rated passing attack has taken a major hit.

Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has a torn MCL and will likely miss at least a month if the team decides not to place him on injured reserve, multiple sources told FOXSports.com.

Schaub had an MRI Monday morning that confirmed the severity of the injury. The injury was sustained on a hit by Vikings Pro Bowl defensive end Jared Allen in the Texans' 28-21 loss to Minnesota.

Sage Rosenfels will take over as Houston's starting QB.

For the season, Schaub had completed almost 68 percent of his passes, throwing for over 1,700 yards with 10 touchdowns against eight interceptions. Rosenfels, meanwhile, has thrown just 62 passes this season, but has similar ratios, completing 68 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and two interceptions.

If it weren't for bad luck, the Texans wouldn't have any at all.

Let's see if Rosenfels can manage to single handedly lose another game.

He's never single handily lost a game yet.

How many tackles did he miss? You need to realize that it's a team sport. The team loses and the team wins.

Simple. The REST fo the team held up their end of the bargain that night.

Will the Texans pursue a quarterback in the draft next year? Could be an interesting debate.
