A few weeks ago idle Alabama was #2 when UT beat #1 Oklahoma... and remained #2. This week idle Penn State watches #1 Texas go down, but they, too, don't rise up as TTU takes over #2...

Moral of the story: Stop having off weeks...

Tech should be at #3, and Texas should be #4. Florida lost to a unranked team at home. Why should they be ahead of a team that played four straight teams in the top 10 in a row, winning 3 and losing one on the road?

Top 10 has 4 B12 teams! Have we surpased the SEC in strength of conference?

Well, the Big XII South is well represented in the top 8. 50% of the slots is an amazing dominance.

That has got to drive the other conferences crazy!

I don't care that we went down two slots in the AP. Doesn't matter on the BCS rankings. :D

That would be nice, but i don't see the voters letting Texas get past the gators!

Nothing in the AP poll matters!!!!!!! It's not part of the BCS rankings!!!!! Texas could be dead last in the AP poll and it not matter.

I'm not convinced this will be possible at the end of the year unless everyone in the Big 12 and SEC wind up with two losses.

There is just way too much pro-Big 12 and SEC sentiment among the pollsters for an undefeated team in another conference -- especially one with no championship game -- for PSU to finish ahead of a one-loss Big 12 or SEC school, especially if the SEC or Big 12 school is one of the usual powers.

Even if PSU was #1 ahead of the championship games (when the Lions would be idle), I think a good win by a one-loss SEC/Big 12 team in their championship game puts them above PSU at #1. If both of those conferences had a one-loss champion, PSU could wind up as #3 and on the outside.

Seems like a good example of the need for the so-called "+1" game.

I believe Fox has the exclusive right to be the first to announce the new BCS standings each week on The OT.
