Region III Game of the Week: Jasper @ Center

This one is for the last playoff spot in 18-3A. Who wins?

Although I love my dogs, surely there is a more deserving team for game of the week??

Caldwell and Cameron would be a good game with better teams, IMO. But they have both had recent game of the weeks, Yoe last week. I think Jasper emerges with a 38-21 win. Good luck, Dawgs.

Maybe so, but this is for a playoff spot and why aren't THEY deserving? They've clawed back in and given themselves a shot. :clap:

i agree, there are several more deserving games...this is just the slack yr for the bulldogs that they have very few of but others of us have more of....

If Jasper can get the T-REX lineman and slow running backs in the game, they should win easily. I can't believe that the playoff implications are lost on the Bulldogs. Bailey and the offense of Jasper has slumbered this year and the mighty Dogs are due to wake up. This is their week.

So true! Jasper should roll in this game especially now that they have T-Rex back along with their 4-9 receiver to stretch the playing field. Rusk had difficulty putting Center away week before last, finally winning 14-8 I think it was. Jasper won pretty handily over Rusk this past week 35-0. Certainly, Center could pull a surprise but I just don't see it happening. The Jasper Dogs are smelling the playoffs and they know what they have to do to get there.

By the way, if Rusk somehow sneaks up on Diboll and wins, and Jasper wins there will be a 3-way tie for second and third place and tie-breakers will come into play. So maybe this IS a good choice for game of the week. ;)

And if Jasper gets by Center and makes the playoffs they will then be 0-0 in the playoffs just like everyone else. :)

Let the playoffs begin!

Not mathmatically. Jasper and Rusk are each 2-2. If Rusk wins Friday and Jasper loses, Jasper stays home. If Jasper wins and Rusk wins, there would be three teams with 3-2 records for second and third. So, Jasper needs to win this game to stay in the hunt.

Realistically, if the favored teams win, Jasper is in. But the favorites still have to win on the field for it to happen.

I think Center is better than in those old days.

You could say the same thing about some 5a teams. There was a time that even a Lufkin coach didn't want anymore of Jasper.

But those days are in the past.
