Sorry for not having a pick last week. Lots of obligations kept me away from the computer combined with an inability to find any coverage for the games I thought were good material. At any rate, congratulations to Mexia for their win and clinching of a playoff berth in 19-3A.
As a side note, I am really impressed with the talent at Running Back Mexia has this season. Lance Bell was supposed to be the top dog, but sophomore Doug Gentry has burst onto the central Texas scene as a top notch speedster at the position. He has had three games in a row with 200+ yards rushing, doing so on 12, 15, and 18 carries. He is now at almost 1300 yards rushing with at least two games to add to that total. Watch out for this guy in the next two years!
