Who would be the favorite to come out of dII? I would think with Celina being a little down, Pleasant Grove, or maybe Kennedale would be the pick to rep regionII. What are your thoughts Rixey?

Yeah I mean I still think this team could make a really good run at it. I just wanted to not be a homer for a bit and hear what other people thought.

Well, Kennedale or Argyle would be my next picks. I have not seen Kennedale.

Replace Kennedale with Kaufman.

celina would still be the favorite, but barely

New Boston is 9-1 and beat TPG by two TD's, so they can't be counted out

i think the top 4 or 5 teams could all win it----but if celina takes care of argyle i think the road to the semis would still go through them

Kennedale still has to win this week to make the playoffs after dropping games to kaufman (best in their district) and Ferris, and they've shown their defense probably can't handle a deep playoff run

Prosper (11-1) will be the favorite in d1, probably against Pittsburg (8-4) or maybe even Van (11-1), although the Vandals still have to prove a little bit having played a weak schedule

in d2,

if celina plays like the favorite, then i think they would play madison in the second round (madison has improved somewhat as kennedale has lost their last two) but i think celina's defense is still strong enough to make them the favorite

New Boston is the easy choice to make the third round at this point, since they only have to beat canton or farmersville to go 10-1 and make the regional semis

Argyle, Paris or Kaufman should play Pleasant Grove in the other semifinal, although this last week of district play should provide a glimpse of which teams are ready to roll in the post-season

so, if all teams play to their rough level,

Celina (9-3) vs. New Boston (10-1)
Kaufman (9-3) vs. Texarkana Pleasant Grove (11-1)

and TPG should be in the quarters

If Celina wins, they will have to play another one-loss 16-3A team, or NB could surprise everyone and make a rematch

What's the deal with the bye's coming out of far east texas this year? Aren't Pitt and TPG in the same district? How do both get a bye?

There is no 15-3A

Nevermind, I just looked it up...there is no 15-3A this alignment period...at least for football.

as part of re-alignment and keeping the 2:1 ratio, the UIL made 7 districts per region, with six + teams per district

the odd district out gets a bye in the first round

New Boston gets a bye, too

all 3 teams from the district do, just like district 5-3A and others
