District 12 is going down to the wire and after what I'v e seen/heard in district play, anything could happen. There are way too many scenarios for my small mind to comprehend. Somebody explain all the what-if's.

Who-dun-it!!?

Kaufman is 4-0 in district play.
Kennedale, Crandall, Alvarado and Ferris are all 2-2 and Venus is 0-4. This Friday Ferris @ Kaufman, Crandall @ Kennedale and Venus @ Alvarado. Alvarado has the highest enrollment number and Kennedale next. Alvarado should beat Venus and wind up 3-2. I'm not predicting beyond that after what's happened this year. Here are the nummbers:
Kennedale @ Kaufman 20-17 loss
Kennedale @ Ferris 55-49 loss
Kennedale @ Venus 64-14 win
Kennedale vs Alvarado 38-35 win

Alvarado @ Kaufman 21-35 loss
Alvarado @ Kennedale 38-35 loss
Alvarado vs Ferris 30-26 win
Alvarado @ Crandall 51-24 win

Ferris @ Crandall 16-7 loss
Ferris @ Alvarado 30-26 loss
Ferris vs Venus 54-18 win
Ferris vs Kennedale 55-49 win

Crandall vs Kaufmann 60-0 loss
Crandall vs Alvarado 51-24 loss
Crandall @ Ferris 16-7 win
Crandall @ Venus 63-14 win

No matter what happens, Kaufman is DII W. If Kennedale loses, then basketball begins. There will be two critical games Friday to determine playoff contenders. Send me your thoughts.

If it is pt. differential - I believe this is how it would go down.

Next week
Kaufman (4-0) vs. Ferris (2-2)
Alvarado (2-2) vs. Venus (0-4)
Kennedale (2-2) vs. Crandall (2-2)

Kaufman is in
If Alvarado, Ferris and Kennedale tie - Kennedale stays home with a -3 pt. differential having beat Alvarado by three and lost by six to Ferris ...
Alvarado would be +1 and Ferris +2

If Alvarado, Ferris and Crandall tie - Ferris stays home having lost to both Alv. and Crandall

There cannot be a three-way tie that includes Kennedale, Crandall and Ferris as K-C loser would have three losses.

Personally, I don't see how Ferris beats Kaufman - thus leaving the final playoff spot up to Kennedale and Crandall. Kennedale will run away with that game.

I thought District 8 was a mess. My head hurts.

we'll see

I would venture to guess that the three that make the playoffs will sweep 11-3A in two weeks. And from there, who knows.
