Vernon Lions win for my 3,000 Post!

I'm sending out this 3,000 post in honor of the Vernon Lions and a hard fought game tonight. Congrats to the entire team and all the fans that have followed them this year.

Don't let up -- take care of Iowa Park next week -- get into the playoffs!

I thought the Lions just wrapped up a playoff spot by the victory over Decatur. Was that not the case?

So Decatur is going to lose next week to Bridgeport to finish 2-3. If Iowa Park beats Vernon, they'll both be 2-3, also. So...

If Vernon wins, they'll be the third place team and prevent a 3-way tie. If they lose, it will depend on how much they lose by.

If LH takes care of business next week and in week one of the playoffs, we'll be facing one of these three teams in round two, as 5-3A gets a first round bye. Region I is kind of nice...get to follow teams I really haven't paid a whole lot of attention to over the years.
