Sinton traveled to Wimberely today to play the Lady Texans and the Lady Pirates (?) of Crawford.

Lady Texans beat us in 3 games: 25-18, 25-16, 25-22. I really wish I could have gone to this game, but it just didn't work out. I spoke to one of the mom's and she was pleased with our play and thought that even though we lost, we gained a great deal from this match!

We then played 2A Crawford and beat them in 3 games: 25-16, 25-17, 26-24!!

We play Thursday, Nov 6th @ Three Rivers vs. Devine!!

PLAYOFFS TONIGHT - The 2008 high school volleyball state playoffs begin tonight with bi-district round action. The Paradise Lady Panthers will take on the Nocona Indians at 7 p.m. at Gainesville High School, while the Northwest Lady Texans won a coin flip and will host the Southlake Carroll Lady Dragons at 7 p.m. In the second round of the playoffs Thursday, the Decatur Lady Eagles will take on defending state champion Wimberly at West High School at 7 p.m., while the Bridgeport Sissies will play in their first ever playoff match against China Spring at Granbury High School at 6 p.m. The match was originally set for 7:30 p.m. but it is now part of a double header so school officials had to move it to an earlier time.

Yes, we've discussed that many times. Usually by the time playoffs go a round or two you get a real feel. That's what we are seeing now.

For instance in D25 Columbus and La Grange split district series with Columbus taking LG 3-0 in last meeting. Then "rankings" come out and Columbus is no where to be found and LG is#23.

The TGCA guy has a tough job, sifting thru enthusiastict fan's information and so on to sort out a ranking.

That's what I heard as well. Sissies were up 2-1, then lost the next when they ran out of gas. Managed to grab the lead in game 5, then went down swinging. Congrats to Fredericksburg!

CORSICANA — The Robinson volleyball team just keeps on surviving.

The Rockettes dug out of a 2-0 deficit for the second straight playoff match, this time defeating district rival Mexia, 3-2, on Monday at Corsicana High School.

Mexia, which defeated Robinson twice in 19-3A play, won the first two games, 27-25 and 31-29.

But Robinson, which came from the same deficit to defeat Tatum in five games on Saturday, rallied once again, 25-19, 25-23 and 15-13.

“It was a battle,” Robinson coach Cathy Reeves said. “It was an amazing match, even better than Saturday.”

Robinson (25-16) advances to the 3A Region III tournament beginning Friday at Bryan High School.

The Rockettes will play the Orangefield-Hamshire winner in the regional semifinal round.

The Rockettes needed to defeat Lorena in a third-place playoff match on Oct. 31 to get into the playoffs. The Rockettes are now two wins away from the state tournament.

The Lady Texans are approaching top form for the play offs...again...what a well coached team!! Burnet was never really competitive, though they did have the lead in one game early. Too many mistakes by Burnet...and you can't do that to a 6-time state champion program.

Back at you Looking4number8...I know absolutely nothing about Brownwood's team, so I can't even compare the two. I know we have had our struggles this year, but I really believe the play off spirit will rise in these girls as it seems to have in the last few years, just in the knick of time (coaching has a lot to do with this!). If it does, they are close to being unstoppable.

Our volleyball coach played volleyball in the Olympics... not that it means anything, but it impressed me! Her husband was her coach on the national team for a while.... again, no advantage there but impressed me.

The 3 girls in the air are our 3 best players and I believe all 3 of them are juniors.

Win or loose tomorrow, I am very happy with our girls this year. They have had a great year.

This is VERY important that the coaches have the experience to pass on to the kids...whether they are a good coach or not will make the difference if they win or lose...but the experience of the Olympics could inspire the girls for their future. Good luck tonight!

Your girls where amazing,that was the most exciting volley ball game I had ever been to, both teams left it all on the floor and that is all we can ask for.I do not think I could handle to many games like that.
I am very proud of our Lady Lions and Wimberley is fantastic they should be proud of themselves.

Thanks for the welcome,I know it's all in good fun and I hope Wimbro does not take it seriously. he seems to be a very class act and vey proud of his girls as well he should be, but it is nice for us Brownwood folks to be able to do a little trash talking ourselves.
Wimbro keep up the good work and looking4number8 thanks again for the welcome. I used to post quite a bit when my boys played football but they graduated in 2001 so now it is up to my freshman daughter to get me going again.
