I'm working on adding in the 13 missing seasons from 1947-1959 currently...

I'm only missing 3 game results to match the official U.I.L. results for the entire history.

I still need to find the Class B districts that Bridgeport belonged to prior to 1951 and the chronologic order of the games for individual years in the early days still needs to be tweaked a bit but for the most part the history is mostly completed

I'm not gonna lie they did horrible in 1943 not even a single point...

Check Henrietta and Lake Worth in 1972-73. I don't think they were in Bridgeport's district.

WOS87,

All I can say is THANK YOU!

When my father gets back in town we are going to have a good time going back over some of those years back in the 50s and 60s.

Thank you again... soooooo much.

Thanks---As usual in Texas, we are but one of many, and we hope to be able to earn our way 1 week at a time and secure a place among the elite in December.

Thanks for pointing that out.... looks like Lake Worth WAS in their district but Henrietta wasn't... I will correct that.

Thanks, P4S. If you want to see a really astounding stat in our history look at the diff between the 92', 0-10 team and the 93', 11-2 team. 93' was Coach Henson's(former OC at Flower Mound Marcus) first year and he accomplished a tremendous turnaround by implementing the spread offense (almost unheard of in 3A in those days). This town was literally "on fire" that season as we had been a doormat for so long. The whole town followed this team to every game---and still does to this day.

We've experienced some of those turnarounds here in Sinton over the years. We may not always be the most talented, but we find a way to get it done!

In 1930 Bridgeport played a school that I had never before heard of called Weatherford Pythian Home. I did a little research and it sounds like quite an unusual place. Here's a pic:

http://idisk.mac.com/cboehme69-Public/stats/pythianhome.gif

It looks like castle! I found this info on it...

Click here ---> LINK (http://www.historictexas.net/bios/2m/miller-henry.html)

Anybody know if this place still exists??

Yes, the Pythian home is still there. Quite a unique place with some amazing architecture.

To this day I think that may be my favorite season ever. In my lifetime it was the first winning season we had had. I will never ever forget the last game of the regular season when we beat Springtown to clinch our first playoff spot in decades. We knew people in Springtown, and they had all already made travel arrangements (including chartering a bus) to the first playoff game because they were so certain they were going to beat us. We were on all the news media outlets, where they called it our "Cinderella season". And it truly was.

Thank you SO much, WOS97! Not only is this a rather astonishing piece of work, it made for a great little trip down memory lane. :)

It was going for the 2 point conversion with no time left on the clock that won that game! I can still see Jesse DeLuna scampering to the corner and diving in the endzone to give the Bulls a 1 point Victory!

Blaster, I think they had to make the 2-pt. conversion from 10 or 15 yds out because of a penalty as I recall, which made it even more amazing.

Y'all's memories are better than mine, because I don't remember the specific play. I just remember the play was at the north end of the field, and we'd all been standing and watching that end for what felt like forever. And then after the score there was so much screaming and jumping that it felt like the bleachers exploded. It was all I could do to stay on my feet.

Okay, so I might have been doing a little screaming and jumping around myself.... ;)

Still incredibly frustrated about the '93 playoff run because I had just started working at my current employer and worked the night shift, M-F. I was stuck at work for almost every game that season. During the playoffs I got to watch half of the first game and made the last trip to see the Perryton game.

But it was very, very, very exciting!!! Definitely a 100% turn around!

My favorite season of course was the 2001 run... it was just a fantastic year for Bullfans.

Without a doubt, my biggest heartbreak ever for the Bulls was the playoff game against Monahans in 2005. Just a heartbreaker...

All this makes me ready for Friday night! GO BULLS!!!!

I was actually at this game on the Monahans side and let me tell you I have never been more nervous in my life. That is one of the best high school football games I've ever had the pleasure of watching

Remember the ride back home? Uggh.

But on the bright side... remember how incredible Colin Jones was that game? Wow!

See, you're able to see the bright side after all this time. And all I can remember is that we lost a game where we scored more touchdowns than the other team. Where, in fact, we scored a LOT of touchdowns.

It's possible I'm a little too subjective and maybe a teensy bit emotionally involved when it comes to football.

One of the best "individual" peformances I have ever seen.

Bridgeport, Monahans, and Sweetwater all playing well and
headed for the playoffs....could we be on the verge of Part II
with Monahans playing Bridgeport and the winner playing
Sweetwater this year?

Well, I am definitely biased, but I think this is a much more complete and better team than the 2005 version... so I hope the Bulls can roll on and maybe we will see one of these matchups.

Right now though, we are just hoping to get through this week with a W and no injuries... cause we kind of have this little date circled on our calenders... Nov. 7th.

I wnet to go look at ya'lls schedule on the Region I page to see
who ya'll played. I don't know why I even bothered. I should've
known it was the Eagles.

If Sweetwater wins your district, Red--I don't think we would see you until the Quarters. If you end up RU, you would probably face Monahans in Area, and then Bridgeport in Regionals---assuming we both make it that far.

Apparently this match up talk is in vain... if either team should face Liberty Hill then from reading the downlow I am not sure we should even make the trip!

Gotta love some of the homers on here...

Just a bit! ;)

Right now, I am thoroughly enjoying each and every game... taken one week at a time. This has ALREADY been a very, very special season for Bull fans. And each week it just keeps getting better.

I wish I could slow it down a little so we can enjoy it just a little more.... and then again, I wish we could speed it up a little to get to each week's game that much faster.

GO Bulls!

Slpy, you remember the part in the movie "Patton" when Gen. George Patton was scared that the war would be over before he could get involved? Well, I think I feel a little like that about football seasons. They come way too slowly and pass far too quickly.

Ohhh... I definitely know that movie. And yeah... I feel the same way you do. Kinda like Christmas when you are a kid. You start thinking about it when school starts... it can't get here quick enough... then School lets out, you visit grandma's, open up presents at home, then the next thing you know you are back at school saying "What the heck happened?"

[and I would also say that Deer season is much the same.]
