Greenwood is having a down year at 4-4, though they will likely make the playoffs again.

They have a running back who is putting up some good numbers and doing an outstanding job but has been overlooked.

Against Andrews Sr RB Kinsey Williams rushed for 252 yards on 15 carries for 2 TDs and caught 2 passes for 97 yards and 2 TDs. This was his second game to score 4 TDs in a game.

Here are his '08 stats through 8 games:

Rushing.......148-1086 yds, 11 TDs (135.7 per game)
Receiving.....13-325 yards, 5 TDs

unfortunately it seems a lot of good players get overlooked.
Why does the playoffs look so rough, who will they get first round?

If the young man can play, he will not be overlooked. People with talent and ability will always get a look.

They should have a relatively "easy one" in the first round.
After that, who knows.

I watched him against Ft. Stockton in week one and wasn't impressed but will watch him the final game in Monahans. Sounds like some improvements have been made.

WOS87'S prediction is Pecos in the 1st round and if Greenwood wins that one then probably Sweetwater.

And btw, I do post during football season but not near as much. Especially the last two seasons when greenwood has not been as successful and years past.

Im anxious as well.......kids good.......

nov 7. will decide if it will be co district championship or if monahans will take it all.

Greenwoods secondary is really the only weak part of the defense.......they have problems with making the plays when it comes to them

there offense hasnt been stopped all year.........

both teams play really hard........it will be a heck of a game for sure.........

Torb , I was very impressed with your soph. Qb (he showed alot of great moves). and the other young players on your team busted their butts. I think we will hear alot out of Lamesa the next couple of year in D3. Good Luck against Greenwood!

Thanks, he is a special player, great kid, and probably one of our most competitive. Monahans is very good and very well coached. We are young, start 6 Sophs and have started as many as 8 at times this year. That really takes a toll on our JV and Freshmen because all of their good ones are having to play up. Good group of Jrs. Just 6 Srs though, makes it hard to line against teams like Monahans, Greenwood, and Seminole that have 24-28 Srs. But we are getting there, been tough for a while but may be worth it someday.

As long as they stick together and not let the losses get them down it will pay off. Can't wait to see how much they improve next year.

Greenwood is very good as well. Coach Taylor and his staff do a great job every year. Rangers are always so physical and their kids compete! I know they have had a ton of injuries this year, but I think they are starting to get healthy and it's at the right time. It will be a tough one Friday night....

They will definitely compete better in the future. As far as making the playoffs it still won't happen in that district. Monahans and Seminole are going to be as good or better for several years to come. Andrews will be much improved and Greenwood has a great freshmen class. All of these teams currently have several sophomores and/or freshmen playing up as well.

As far as the Greenwood running back being so good, we will see next week when he faces a tough Monahans defense.

LOL. I'm glad they got that on film. I hope KW doesn't try that again though. It looked dangerous the way he hit the ground.

I am anxious as well to see how he can do against the Monahans defensive front they have some big guys up there especially #81 and #66 they are some players. I watched 81 play against Sweetwater and he played a heck of a game. I'm ready to see what he can do up against the greenwood line.
