With Sealy winning over Smithville this week, that very likely will push Bellville down to the D2 playoffs as Sealy would go D1 if they qualify.

I think Hidalgo will lose at least one, if not both of their final 2 games, allowing Lyford to get in

I can see La Feria beating Hidalgo but I will be surprised to see Zapata beat them after they were demolished by La Feria and then beaten by PI this week.

But you are right, if Hidalgo doesn't win out they will likely be tied with Lyford and Lyford won the head-to-head.

I hope you're not right about Wharton having to play Sealy. I have horrible memories of last year but I've gotta keep reminding myself that this is an entirely different year with an entirely different team!

I'll be interested to see how the Bellville-Sealy game goes since Wharton played Bellville early on. I don't remember how the match-up between Sealy and Giddings went and I don't feel like searching through the threads...can someone refresh my memory?

If Needville gets in instead of BR, then they'd be big school and would go D1 and that would put Wharton and Sweeny as the D2 schools...right? So Wharton would have either Giddings or Bellville...again?

I'm thinking Sealy has the inside track to make the playoffs even if they go 0-2 from here on out. As badly as Smithville beat La Grange I'm thinking La Grange would have to beat Sealy by quite a large amount to keep Sealy out of the playoffs. The only way Sealy would possibly miss the playoffs would be for them to lose to BOTH Bellville and La Grange and it will all depend on what the maximum cap on points is in the district tiebreak method.

If Smithville were to upset either Giddings or Bellville it would be a different story.... but I don't see any of that happening
