It would take him ten minutes to figure out what scenarios
it would take for five of the six teams in 2-3A to make the playoffs.

Hint...hint...

Dr. WOS87 sir....:D

Current 2-3A Standings

1 - Abilene Wylie 3-0
1 - Sweetwater 3-0
3 - Snyder 1-2
3 - Graham 1-2
3 - Brownwood 1-2
6 - Breckenridge 0-3

There are 64 possible different outcomes among the 6 remaining games but I'm thinking it would be quite unlikely for Breck to beat Snyder, Graham to beat Wylie or Breck to beat Graham so if you assume the outcome of those three games that leaves only 3 games to really consider.

Snyder vs Breck (assume Snyder takes this one)
Wylie vs Graham (assume Wylie takes this one)
Graham vs Breck (assume Graham takes this one)
Sweetwater vs Brownwood
Wylie vs Sweetwater
Snyder vs Brownwood

Adding the results of those three games you have the following standings:

1. Abilene Wylie 4-0
2. Sweetwater 3-0
3. Snyder 2-2
4. Graham 2-3
5. Brownwood 1-2
6. Breckenridge 0-5

8 possible scenarios between the final 3 games. If the winners of the 3 games are as follows:

Sweetwater-Wylie-Snyder (1) Wylie 5-0, (2) Sweetwater 4-1, (3) Snyder 3-2

Sweetwater-Wylie-Brownwood (1) Wylie 5-0, (2) Sweetwater 4-1 (3) 3-way tie between Brownwood, Snyder and Graham 2-3

Sweetwater-Sweetwater-Snyder (1) Sweetwater 5-0, (2) Wylie 4-1, (3) Snyder 3-2

Sweetwater-Sweetwater-Brownwood (1) Sweetwater 5-0, (2) Wylie 4-1, (3) 3-way tie between Brownwood, Snyder and Graham 2-3

Brownwood-Wylie-Snyder (1) Wylie 5-0, (2) Sweetwater 3-2, (3) Snyder 3-2

Brownwood-Wylie-Brownwood (1) Wylie 5-0, (2) Brownwood 3-2, (3) Sweetwater 3-2

Brownwood-Sweetwater-Snyder (1) Sweetwater 4-1, (2) Wylie 4-1, (3) Snyder 3-2

Brownwood-Sweetwater-Brownwood (1) Sweetwater 4-1, (2) Wylie 4-1, (3) Brownwood 3-2

So in conclusion, IF Wylie beats Graham, Snyder beats Breck and Graham beats Breck (all of which are likely)...

Sweetwater and Wylie are guaranteed playoff spots, with Snyder, Brownwood and Graham all fighting it out for the 3rd spot

Thank you very much WOS87.

If Sweetwater and Wylie take care of business next week, Then
they will be playing for the outright district championship in
week 10. Woohoo.

Btw I saw WOS highlights on FSN lastnight. Ya'll are going Div. I
right? :D

WO-S should most definitely go D2. Silsbee will get the D1 spot from our district.

Who knows maybe this year there will finally be the matchup
that should've happened 20 years ago. Mustangs vs. Mustangs.

Yes I know I'm getting way ahead of myself. :)

i would love to see a final Championship game between WO-S and Liberty Hill. THAT would be worth travelling to see...probably Katy??

IDK if Rhodes Stadium in Katy could hold a championship game. They should just go to Reliant in Houston if that's the case.

Hey, I can dream can't I? :D

Btw if Snyder makes it to the playoffs, that's when I'll start
worrying about being 0-3 against them.

I sure would like to see them play again....a second shot. Snyder needs to win out and hopefully that will be enough.

If Snyder does make the playoffs, I wonder who would end up
playing Monahans in the second round. I think that will be a
great game no matter which one of us does.

Yes...I believe it would be. Monahans was a young team last year and I figured they would be good this year...and the next. In fact, I think I have a post from last year stating that. I would love to see a Snyder/Monahans matchup this year. It has become quite a rivalry.

Ultimately, I want to see Snyder/Sweetwater again.

Apparently both Snyder and Monahans people want a rematch
with Sweetwater. Imagine that.

Rhodes Stadium may have some problems, but the Berry Center should be more than adequate.

They ain't the only ones, Red. The Bulls want to avenge all those Sweetwater loses, and this could be our year. I hope we get the chance.

Bring it on. Colin Jones is gone so we're not scared....uh
please tell me he doesn't have a little brother playing this year.
If so I might take back the we're not scared part. :D

I was thinking Wimpy was thinking about Rhodes Stadium because Wimberley played there a few years ago in the playoffs (The year they won the title).

We can only hope. That would be one heck of a week 10 game.

Yep! It would be in our house too. Maybe Coach Jackson can
improve on that 2-5 record against Coach Sandifer.

If you took a vote in Monahans it would be closer than when Gore and Bush went at it. Half want Snyder, the other half want Sweetwater. Since Big Red has the only win against Monahans, (many around here feel more like we just ran out of time due to the second half domination), but a loss is a loss. Anyway I am sure those boys would love to get one more shot at Sweetwater when it counts. I would imagine Sweetwater would love another run at ole Monahans themselves as we have been doing that in these parts for years. A Sweetwater vs. Monahans event will be a standing room only game.

Monahans the 2nd time around won't be as wasy........let's wait and see!!!

I agree. I think both teams will play harder, should be one to remember, regardless of who ends up on top.
Sweetwater has a linebacker this year that is nothing short of all state in my opinion. That being said, I like what I see in Monahans. Different star each week it seems. Those boys seem to be playing like a team, could be dangerous with all the talent they have this year. They also have some juniors as big as my truck so I agree that next year will be a tough squad as well.

This is really very plain a simple after last week.

Brownwood - must win out 3-2
Snyder - must win out 3-2 (Snyder and Brownwood play the last week so one is out.)

Sweetwater - only has to win 1 of 2 to assure themselves but can get in without winning another game.

Graham - must win out (3-2), AND hope that Brownwood loses to Sweetwater and then beats Snyder making both BW and Snyder both 2-3.

If Sweetwater losses their last two to BW and Wylie to go 3-2, and Graham were to win out to go 3-2, and Brownwood were to win out to go 3-2. That would bring tie breakers into the picture.

Like I said early: Snyder and Brownwood still have control of their own destinies and play the last week. After that some crazy things would have to take place to muddy the waters, but stranger things have happened. :D

BreckTxLonghorn

So Breckenridge could play spoiler the next two weeks. That's a small consolation that I know they'll take.

Only thing scarier than a team with everything to gain is a team with nothing to lose. :D

Absolutely:2thumbsup Breck can piss on two teams Post Toasties, and I for one won't be surprised if the Buckaroos win one on these last two games.

Then again, so could Breck; maybe not the most likely, but they're not mathematically eliminated yet.

They still got something to play for; it ain't over yet.

Heres another one:

Breck beats both Snyder and Graham
Snyder loses to Breck and beats Brownwood
Sweetwater loses to both Brownwood and Wylie
Brownwood beats Sweetwater and loses to Snyder
Graham beats Wylie and loses to Breck

Breck 2-3, Snyder 2-3, Brownwood 2-3, and Graham 2-3.

This is nuts  but it sure is interesting

Sweetwater would still be 3-2 and in.

The OTHERS, though, would all be 2-3, and again, interesting.
