This was in the same edition as the article I posted yesterday.
It isn't on the on-line edition though.

Thursday, October 23, 2008-Sweetwater Reporter-Vol.110, Issue 289

There was no one listed as the writer. I can only assume it was
Ron Howell. He is our sports editor.

If posting the above doesn't make it a "legal" source reference
feel free to move or lock it.

Jackson vs. Rodgers

"Friday's game will mark the sixth time that Sweetwater's Kent
Jackson and Snyder's Chad Rodgers have coached against
each other at their respective schools. Jackson has a 3-2 edge
as Sweetwater won regular season meetings in 2003, 2004, and
2005, while Snyder won in 2002 and also in the 2004 state
quarterfinals matchup.

Jackson and Rodgers each began their respective jobs in 2001.
Jackson has a record of 74-24 at Sweetwater including 15-7 in
the playoffs, with seven consecutive appearances and a trip to
the semifinals in 2005. Sweetwater has advanced to at least
the area round all seven years.

Rogers has a record of 67-28 at Snyder including 12-6 in the
playoffs, with six straight appearances and two trips to the
semifinals in 2004 and 2007."

Hey man, don't be advertising Coach Rogers success....I'd like to see him stick around for a while. :D

We as fans may complain about some decision that they make, and their coaching styles, but you can't argue the success that they've had. Snyder had some real down years before Rogers took over; he's brought the program a long way.

I agree. The coach that Jackson replaced went 6-4 and 3-7 in
two years as HC. Jackson turned the team around in one year.

True but lets be fair. Jackson wasnt trying to coach a 3A size team at a 4A level. And Dowell was running pretty lean on talent those last couple of years also.

Oh I know. Coach Ritchey knew when to get out. :D

To be honest I think Maikell gave Dowell a raw deal. That's just
my opinion though.

I don't remember seeing either coach running or throwing the ball or in uniform on the field.

what are you talking about? The coaches spend hours upon hours working on gameplans...They teach the players all week on the gameplan...then its the players turn to execute on Friday night...and the coaches also have to sometimes change their gameplan during the game...so the coaches are just important to the game as the players are
