Sweeny defeats Wharton in 4 games.

18-25, 25-11, 25-20, 25-19

Clinched a playoff spot for Sweeny. Needville had already clinched a spot. The standings something close to this; Not for sure but I think with 2 games left:

Needville 8-0
Sweeny 6-2
Wharton 5-3
Stafford-3-5
Columbia 2-6
Royal 0-8

Sweeny has Needville and Stafford left to play. Wharton can beat Stafford on Friday and clinch a playoff spot.

WOW! what a great showing these two teams put on tonight, Ingleside took the first two games and fal came back and won the next three...little spotty job on the refs, but other than that... it was great...

Sounds like a great match. How's the district shaping up this year? Does it look like Fal's headed to the playoffs?

yep thats how the district looks like it will shape up, even with an upset on friday Sinton will still be in first and I doubt they will be upset twice in district play..

In District 30AAA it was:

Sinton Over Orange Grove 3-0. Sinton also won the JV and Freshmen matches.

Falfurrias over Ingleside 3 - 2. Falfurrias also won the JV match while Ingleside won the Freshmen match.

Aransas Pass Over Mathis 3 - 0. Mathis won the JV match while Aransas Pass won the Freshmen match.

West Oso over Robstown 3 - 0. West Oso also won the JV and Freshmen matches.

The District Standings with two matches left are:

1. Sinton 12 - 0

2&3 tie between Falfurrias and Aransas Pass at 10 - 2.

4. West Oso 6 - 6

5. Ingleside 5 - 7

6. Orange Grove 4 - 8

7. Mathis 1 - 11

8. Robstown 0 -12

Sinton, Falfurrias and Aransas Pass have cinched playoff spots. If Sinton wins at least one of its' last two matches (which are against Falfurrias and Aransas Pass) then Sinton wins District.

Is Aransas Pass 10-2 or 9-3? I know they've lost to us & Falfurrias, but didn't they lose to someone else?

Bellville has only a few losses playing a very tough pre-district schedule against some 5A & 4A schools. I look for them to make a deep run in the upcoming playoffs.

Could very well be....they have played and stayed with some of the area better 4A and 5A teams. Have to get through Columbus and La Grange in final games District, a win over either earns the Brahmanettes the 25 3A championship.

Senior leadership sure seems to be there this year and 3 of the girls in double digit kills almost every match makes them a much more rounded team than in the past couple of years since their last trip to State.

Best of luck to the Brahmanettes the rest of the season!

Okay, so Wimberley & Burnet have split the series, right? Is the loss to Burnet the only one for the Lady Texans in district? Now Burnet has losses to LH & you guys. Any others?

Also, does anyone know how the rest of the district games went last night?

I think the last time I looked it was (before last night):
1. Burnet (1 loss to LH)
2. Wimberley (1 loss to Burnet)
3. Fredericksburg
4. Liberty Hill

Today's paper on page 3C had both Falfurrias and Aransas Pass at 10 - 2 so I don't know what to believe. :(

Burnet has lost to Fred also i believe. (I think Burnet split with Wimberley and Fred) LH is 6-4 right now and needs to win there next 2 games against Wimberley and Burnet to stage a chance at sneaking in. I have a hard time thinking we can do this, considering if we tied for third with Fred, they will obviously have the heads up on us (2-0) and we will be left out of the playoffs.

Oh, okay. Thanks for the info. :( You'll have to yell enough for me Friday because I don't believe we'll get there in time to make it.
