Given the confusion over the resurrection of my old thread I've got a new set of updated stats for all of you

3A Teams are listed in YELLOW

In preparation for the upcoming playoffs... I went over the numbers of consecutive playoff appearances across the state and here's where we stand going in to the 2008 tournament.

485 teams qualified for the playoffs in 2007 (1 consecutive year)
336 teams have qualified in 2006 and 2007 (2 consecutive years)
218 teams have qualified every year since 2005 (3 consecutive years)
157 teams have qualified every year since 2004 (4 consecutive years)
107 teams have qualified every year since 2003 (5 consecutive years)

81 teams have qualified every year since 2002 (6 consecutive years)
(19 currently have a streak of 6): Albany, Austin McCallum, Canadian, Cisco, Crawford, Cuero, Decatur, Devine, Dilley, Joaquin, Lake Dallas, Lewisville Hebron, Lexington, Liberty Hill, Pleasanton, Prosper, San Antonio Fox Tech, Snyder, Tatum

62 teams have qualified every year since 2001 (7 consecutive years)
(6 currently have a streak of 7): Chilton, Gilmer, Kennedale, Longview, Sunray, Texarkana

56 teams have qualified every year since 2000 (8 consecutive years)
(10 currently have a streak of 8): Denton Ryan, Harlingen, Houston Lamar, Idalou, McCamey, Pearland, Port Isabel, Rice Consolidated, Southlake Carroll, Sweetwater

46 teams have qualified every year since 1999 (9 consecutive years)
(12 currently have a streak of 9): Abilene, Allen, Dallas Lincoln, Everman, Gunter, Lubbock Monterey, Midland Greenwood, Nazareth, Pflugerville Connally, San Marcos, Stratfod, Whitewright

34 teams have qualified every year since 1998 (10 consecutive years)
(5 currently have a streak of 10): China Spring, Euless Trinity, Lufkin, Roscoe, Shiner

29 teams have qualified every year since 1997 (11 consecutive years)
(5 currently have a streak of 11): Corrigan-Camden, Kerrville Tivy, La Vernia, New Braunfels, Perryton

24 teams have qualified every year since 1996 (12 consecutive years)
(7 currently have a streak of 12): Aledo, Dayton, De Soto, Ennis, Smithson Valley, The Woodlands, Wolfforth Frenship

17 teams have qualified every year since 1995 (13 consecutive years)
(3 currently have a streak of 13): East Chambers, Highland Park, Windthorst

14 teams have qualified every year since 1994 (14 consecutive years)
(5 currently have a streak of 14): Abilene Wylie, Celina, Dallas Skyline, Galena Park North Shore, Newton

9 teams have qualified every year since 1992 (16 consecutive years)
(1 currently has a streak of 16): Refugio

8 teams have qualified every year since 1991 (17 consecutive years)
(1 currently has a streak of 17): Katy

7 teams have qualified every year since 1990 (18 consecutive years)
(4 currently have a streak of 18): Dallas Carter, Dallas Kimball, La Marque, Waxahachie

3 teams have qualified every year since 1988 (20 consecutive years)
(1 currently has a streak of 20): Austin Westlake

2 teams have qualified every year since 1985 (23 consecutive years)
(1 currently has a streak of 23): Corpus Christi Calallen

1 team has qualified every year since 1977 (31 consecutive years): Houston Yates

Correction:

The Woodlands was known as Conroe McCullough prior to 1996 and McCullough made the playoffs in 1995 so The Woodlands should be listed as having 13 consecutive appearances (not 12)

Cool, thanks for the stats WOS, and it's sad Sweetwater's streak has to end this year.:( :D

If Snyder and Sweetwater both win over Brownwood neither of your streaks will have to end
