Brad Johnson will be the starter according to the cowboys website.

I think the Boys can pull of the win in St Louis with Johnson running the offense. It is the followint two games(Tampa Bay and New York Giants) that have me worried.

Getting Roy Williams will get TO more one on one matchups. This offense now resembles the Cowboys of the early '90's with Irvin and Harper at WR. there is some worry after this game but Dallas should win those games.

Dallas wins this one. The Rams got their one miracle win for the season last week in Washington. Even without Romo Dallas should roll.

Too many weapons for Dallas even with Romo out. Cowboys by 17.

Rams wont be rolled over. Haslett is a very good def coach. He also know to feed the ball to RB. Should be a good game. Cowboys by 10. I like the Williams pick up by the Cowboys.

Cowboys have been scoring on their first drive in all their games except last week, so good to see them get back into that trend. Lets go defense!!

Dallas 7-0 :)

Dallas looks horrible in the first half, and have been looking worse in the second half all season.
Is Brad Johnson the best we have? The offensive line is giving him plenty of time, he just cant deliver.
Let the third string qb give it ago.
Barber comes out and runs strong in the first quarter, but then seems to run out of gas.

One other thing, fire the DC.

I think Brad Johnson should just retire. If he can't shake the rust off after a bad first half, he's done. Romo probably would have made the good throws today, but would have been an even bigger target for St. Louis.

Lack of intensity and lack of discipline. If the Cowboys don't cure both in a hurry, you can forget the playoffs, much less a Superbowl. Time for Jerry Jones to start asking for what he has been willing to pay for, and deliver the message that he doesn't plan to go one-and-done with the same faces again. Games like today's definitely ain't it.

Didnt look like boys prepared at all for the Rams. Rams shut down all receiver options and were willing to let dallas run the ball. Interesting plan, but effective. Dallas secondary played poorly. avery got behind them a couple of times. I agree with many posts, no intensity witnessed during the game. That DC from UT - now there is intensity.

What a weak bunch of uninspired millionaires. I think there should be a clause in their contract where Jerry doesn't pay for unprofessional performances like I saw today. I did not see anyone earn a paycheck today. Flozell needs to pay Jerry to let him play. 3rd and 1 and he moves. Then he gets a holding call. #38 gets back in action and guess where they attack and score twice! Our big O-Line needs to get their fat arses in the weight room and then do some dots to learn to move their feet.

The first quarter looked like they spent too much time playing "wait and see" if Romo could play and they didn't prepare enough to go with Johnson... Oh, and the D looks like a PeeWee team could have scored on them. Wade "Son of Bum" Phillips also looks as lost as Joe Paterno on the sidelines during a game... Wow.

wedo
10-19-2008, 06:15 PM
Man i don't know what to say about the boys any more. They stunk up the place today. THey played very uninsperational today and expect Wade Phillips to take the blame for this one. All that money and they cant beat the freaking Rams. The Defense looked Horrible, Anthony Henry is super slow along with Roy Williams "the Strong Saftey". They should look into aquiring Ty Law , he is a free agent but he is a salty veteran. Maybe he can show some leadership in that locker room. All those Pro Bowlers and they give up 4 TDs to the Rams wow.

As for the Offense, expect Romo to play next week, whether or not he is ready Jerry will throw him out there. Marion Barber is a great back, but he needs someone to compliment him with a lot of speed and with Felix Jones out he is not much of a factor. Romo will start next week and things will probably be a whole lot better next week offensively. The Boys have a lot of keys players hurt right now, but hopefully they can turn it around before its too late!!

I dont think was the problem, they basically said they never had planned for Romo to start

and BTW the first Q was when Dallas had their best drive on offense until the mop up TD

I still dont think this team felt urgency going into this game..and the first Drive to put them up 7-0 IMO hurt them because I think they thought once agian we are the Cowboys we can relax

This team just does not at the moment have the focus needed to pay attention to the littlest details which is what a team has to do to win

Phil C
10-19-2008, 07:32 PM
The Cowboys need to start winning some games even if they don't get into the playoffs or they would have drafted very early in the 2009 draft. The more they lose the lover that pick and if they lose a great draft pick for Roy Williams the receiver then they are going to look very foolish once again no matter how great he is.

i have been preaching it forever on here and people just state the defensive stats of the cowboys about they are not as bad as people think. Today was living proof that they are a bunch of underachieving over rated guys. Romo would have definitely made a difference but last time i checked he doesnt play defense. When you look at the games this team has to still play its scary. I said it before and I will say it again I think they miss the playoffs.

One thing that does bother me is whenever the Cowboys make a mistake, the camera always turns to Wade Phillips and all he does is put his hands on his hips and shake his head. And then after the game during the press conference, he always seem to put the blame on the coaching staff for not preparing the team properly. Was he what they needed last year? Yeah he was. A loose feeling after Parcells was good for the team and showed for most of the year. Now the need someone to chew their butts off a little and the only one that I've heard of so far was Jerry Jones yesterday after the loss. Should it be JJ doing this? Hell no. It should be the Head Coach. JJ says Phillips job is safe, but I think everyone pretty much knows this team is going to Garrett very soon. Garrett doesn't strike me much as a disciplinarian. His offensive scheme has been working all that well this year. Maybe it's just me but someone needs to get on these guys before things get any worse. I don't know how much more worse things can get though.

You're right. The defense was awful and they've been trending this way for a while. There is way too much "talent" on this defense for them to play like that.

I am off the Wade bandwagon. He needs to go. Teams take on the personality of their coach. Anyone have any doubt that this team has taken on Wade's personality?

true... but no way that Cowher and TO exist together...

Cowher will make it a point to pound the football... TO will have to accept that he is an afterthought

Jerry and Cowher would get along fine. Jerry has shown that he can check his ego at the door if it's best for the franchise; he did that with Parcells.

Cowher had Plaxico in Pitt so it would not be the first time he's dealt with a drama queen WR.

I don't think Cowher will happen, but I think to flat out say it wouldn't work is allowing your bias to get in the way of reality.

no bias... just know that Plaxico did leave to go to New York... wonder why?

if Cowher wanted to coach again and the Jerry hired him, there would have to be an understanding that was in place... Cowher would have to have control, and if he wanted to get rid of TO then he would... I think Cowher would love to coach a team that could win the SUper Bowl and Dallas does have that talent...
Cowher would run the football with Barber and Jones and throw on occasion and then play defense, like he did in Pittsburgh... I do not see TO liking that too much... but my opinion...

He had to run in Pittsburgh, he never had a good QB. Win they won the Super Bowl it was on Ben R's arm in the playoffs.

I wasn't saying Bill Cowher was a life long Steeler fan. I ment as a life long Steeler fan and watching every game under Cowher that I don't think he would get along well with Jones. For one Jones wouldn't be as patient as the Rooneys. It took Bill 15-years to get a championship in Pittsburgh and he is the only coach to lose four Championship games at home. Plus Bill would not put up with a player like T.O. You remember Bam Morris? The leading rusher in Super Bowl 30, Cowher and the Rooneys cut him after he was arrested with 30+ pounds of weed in his car a few months after the Super Bowl. Do you honestly think Jones would let him do that with the Cowboys? Nope, he proved he wouldn't that same offseason as Irvin was busted as well. Kordell was more of a whiney ego player like T.O. and Bill made him cry after being benched one year. The reason why Bill and Jerry wouldn't get along,is because Jerry would be on the sidelines in Cowhers business and I can see Bill giving him a shower. Now you can say the same thing about Parcells but the Bills can't be any more different. Parcells is as much of a media whore as Jones. Cowher doesn't want that kind of attention. Bill would thrive in Dallas with Barber a power back but T.O. would have a hissy fit cause he wouldn't get the ball and he already is crying that 17 touches isn't enough, Bill would run Barber and Jones, fix the defense and play a smash mouth, ball control, and field position type game.
