A pretty sloppy game in a lot of respects by both teams. But both are playing hard and it's still anybodys game. Good to see the ags being back to being competitive for a change. This is the first time I've watched them this year. But I've seen Tech on several occasions. They are very good, but probobly a bit over ranked. I think Texas will handle them in a high scoring game. But it'll be in Lubbock, so anything can happen.

Tech and A & M have a brutal rivalry but that last TD was not necessary. Class says that you have win in the bag and take a knee. I am not an Aggie fan, but I would be pretty upset with the Tech Staff right now. Congratulations to Texas A & M on a super performance today, give Sherman time and they will be winners in the not too distant future.

Offense had another good day. A&M dropped eight most of the 2nd half because they weren't going to let Tech beat them deep. They showed they could go on some time consuming possessions which is good. That defense has to tighten up though if they want to beat Kansas, UT, Okie State and OU. I hope they win all of them except for the UT game.

I enjoy watching the "Tortilla Throwing Classless Clowns" (My Tech friends get a good laugh out of being called that by other fans) and like to see them do well!

In Tech's position right now, and the possibility of what could happen from here on out, they would have been stupid to not go for the score. Just another example of one of the many flaws in the BCS system, but it's the system they have, so you have to do what you have to do. And I guarantee the Ag coaches are well aware of all that, and would have done the same thing if the shoe were on the other foot. That one TD could possibly be a huge piece of the equation when bowl time rolls around.

I disagree 1000%. Sherman would not have run that last TD in if the roles were reversed, and neither would Mac. I would bet everything I own on that. Leach runs up the score when there are no BCS implications.

Well you may think Sherman is stupid about how the BCS works, but I seriously doubt he is. If your ranked #5 and undefeated and have a possible chance at a NC, youd be a fool to kneel on that ball, and I'm sure Sherman is smart enough to know that.

Uhhh....How? You do REALIZE that's NOT a shot at Tech, right? Being that you're a Tech fan I would think you might know that. It was something that was initially SUPPOSED to be DEROGATORY, but instead Tech fans turned it into a badge of honor of sorts. Kind of like how the Redcoats called the Americans a bunch of Yankee Doodle Dandies and instead of it being derogatory it became a rallying cry.

A&M played fair well today The defense made Tech work for everything they got and didn't fair to bad. The Aggie offense was great the first half going into halftime up 23-20, but for some reason they couldn't put anything together in the second half to save their life. Final was 43-25.

BIG BLUE DEFENSIVE END
10-18-2008, 03:24 PM
It's a rivalry, that's how things go sometimes. The players did what their coaches told them to do, but all in all, their players and fans acted with class and were respectful from what I saw. I didn't really like that Tech went ahead and scored when they didn't necessarily have to, but like I said, it's a rivalry, and that's the way things go. It was a tough loss. We went in expecting to win, just like every game, and everyone played hard on both sides of the ball. There are no moral victories and just because it was a close game doesn't mean we're going to feel good about it. That's all I have to say about the game, and in all honesty, I really think that's all that needs to be.

That last td really angered the Aggie broadcasters and the post game callers. I listened to several call in shows driving back to Gonzales from the game and they said that most coaches in the Big 12 save for Leach, would have kneeled the ball and let the clock run out. Lots of Tech fans at Kyle today. I would estimate that one third of the crowd was wearing red.

That may be true, but sometimes you have to show a little class. Mack showed how it should be done tonight against Mizzou when he had Chiles kneel the ball on the 15. Horns probably could have scored again, but what would it have proved? Whatever happened to playing the game with sportsmanship and respect for your opponent?

Even LSU with old Les Miles kneeled the ball to end the game agains South Carolina. That's how you should do it. There is no point to running up the score.

I would completely agree IF the BCS equation didnt include point differential and total points scored. Problem is, it DOES. Just another good reason why this BCS system sucks. It's obvious to anyone with an IQ somewhere north of 50 that D1 needs to have a playoff system just like everyone else. But until that happens, you'll keep these things happen over and over again, just like it's been going on now for years. Dont blame the coaches for having to do what they do in a severly flawed system.

Beats me! All the BCS rules give me tired head so I don't even bother to learn what they are. :) MOV in this game was 18, but that's too many. We suck no matter how you look at it - OT to beat Nebraska by 7 and scored too many today. :(

Really? People throw around the word class so much it doesn't mean anything anymore. USC did the same thing, but you don't hear anybody complaining about them. They were up like 60-something to 0. Nice post.

Please remember that per the rules you are able to discuss THIS game until the end of the day. Any mention of next weeks game will get the thread closed again. Remember to keep it civil.

Exactly why I'm not upset about it in the scope of things. In all honesty, I don't care how much we lost by, I just hate that we lost at all.

The bottom line is that there are good people who go to both schools. The players were classy the entire game and the fans seemed to be pretty decent to me. Just let it go, seriously.

Last night against Missouri that is what UT Coach Brown told his QB to do after he almost broke for a td. The UT coaches told the qb to take a knee and end the game which is what he did.

Leach should be on VH1 "Charm School" - no class scoring that last TD. What goes around comes around. Eventually the big wheel will come full circle.

I got to hang out with some really cool Tech fans this weekend. I heard stories about some being arrogant but since I did not experience it, and actually found class from all their fans, I will go ahead and make my statement that the Tech fans were really cool this weekend.

Game was fun to watch, certainly not the TTU blowout everyone was predicting.

Didn't think the last TD was necessary but then again, where was the Aggie spirit that shined through most of the game, attempt to make a decent red zone stand, don't just let him trot in untouched....After seeing the whole game, I expected a little more try out of the Aggie defense, not for a chance at a win but even if only to make a statement. Instead the only statement that was implied is that Harrell/Leach/TTU is arrogant when the Aggies could have made a stand and the statement would have been "It may not be our year, but we're building and we're getting better, so watch out next time we meet"

Listened to Coach Sherman & other A&M coaches philosophy of rebuilding A&M, they are on the right track so TTU will get a taste of that last TD in the future. First time to be introduced to the Aggie life, I was impressed.

AND I had a really good time sitting with the Tech fans/daughter and then moving to another seat and sitting with the Aggies. Great fun and then out to eat with both sides. Beautiful day to spend watching two good teams/fans play.

Goin Band from Raiderland is the most awesome entertainment. If you ever get a chance to see them perform, don't miss it.
