A rare bright spot for my hometown. I'm guessing few folks actually know this, but he is from Lampasas!

The 6'4" 220 pound QB owns just about every single season record in WTAMU history as well as most single season LSC records. He threw for 4134 yards (Despite missing two games due to injury) and 41 TD's last season as a junior. Ryan Leaf may not have been much of an NFL QB, but apparently he is one heck of a QB coach.

Null leads an offense averaging 539.4 yards and 48.1 ppg (Second only to ACU who averages 53.5) so far this season. In seven games this year his stats look like this.

202-310 (68.7%)
2810 yards (401.4 yards per game and 9.3 yards per attempt)
25 TD's

We don't have many kids who have gone on to do great things on the football field in recent years so I'm glad to see this kid doing so well. His dad was not the most well-liked person back in my hometown, (His dad used to bad mouth our basketball team to no end back in the 90's and we used to boo him when he'd show up to basketball games.) but his son has apparently risen above his genes and has made something out of himself and I'm proud of him!

Good luck to Keith Null and his teammates later today against ACU. I bet it's going to be a great game no matter who wins!

I'd probably guess that most folks wouldn't know that. He's turned out to be a good one though. I believe he set a conference record earlier this year against A&M-Kingsville when he threw for 545 yards. I believe that was a road game as well which makes it more impressive.

With those kind of stats, and his size, he should get a shot at playing at the next level. Lots of luck to him!

It is going to be a packed house tonight in Canyon. I kinda wish we were still in the panhandle so we could go up and watch the game.

I saw him play against Kingsville a few weeks ago. Very impressive. He's also got a reciever named Charly Martin that is outstanding. Part of those 545 yards was a 98 yard TD pass to Martin.

I watched him against MSU 2 weeks ago. They are a LOT of fun to watch!
