Andrews tried everything thing they had and appeared to toy with the thought of a halfback pass but never pulled the trigger. An onside kick, fake punt, reverse later.
Green 26-3. 2-0 in district. Andrews will continue to get better, they are young and I think will continue to show improvement.

They can't help but show improvement. A young team learning a new system. I would say the deck is stacked against them in a dsitrict with some tough opponents.

Maybe if Greenwood can put Andrews away next week and then Lamesa....we only have Monahans left (which I'm not feeling all warm and fuzzy about)....we might actually can take the 3rd place spot behind Monahans and Seminole!!!

I've got my money on Greenwood getting the 3rd spot.

Andrews isn't very sharp this year, and Lamesa never gives you any competition.

I think Brownfield put 38-0 on em' tonight.

Football: Loboes knock off Mustangs in 3-3A tilt

ANDREWS: Quincy Titus did a bit of everything in Monahans 26-3 victory over Andrews Friday night at the Mustang Bowl.

The Loboes' junior quarterback ran for 58 yards, threw for 90 more, including a 5-yard fourth quarter touchdown pass to Calvin Franks that put the game away.

But he also intercepted a pass for Monahans (6-1 overall, 2-0 District 3-3A) in the first quarter as Andrews was driving.

And when he wasn't able to move the ball, his punts were twice able to put the Mustangs (2-6, 1-1) around their own 20-yard line.

"He's been playing excellent," Monahans coach Mickey Owens said. "Quincy's been a great leader for us. You can't complain about that kid."

Everyone that touched the ball for Monahans seemed to be able to run it. The Loboes averaged nearly five yards a carry Friday in rushing for 219 yards.

Monahans..................... 13...... 0 0 13 - 26

Andrews.......................... 3...... 0 0 0 - 3

This district is fairly simple to predict other than the third spot. Regardless #3 will probaby exit early. I expect 1 and 2 to suprise a few teams.
1. Monahans
2. Seminole
3. Greenwood

I wouldn't count out Brownwood battling for that third spot.
