Does Yoakum have a chance against Edna? Does anyone think they still might have a shot at a playoff spot? I see Yoakum coming back and winning this one, after that, it is anybodys guess.
Yoakum 28
Edna 21

Edna lost a heartbreaker @ Gonzales 22-23. Three times in the 2nd half the Cowboys were inside the Apache 5yd line, including in the last minute, but shot themselves in the foot with turnovers and major penalties. We score on any of those possessions and we probably win.

I hear the Bulldogs are better than the Apaches, so it could be another long night for the Cowboys. But, with Kam Jones back from injury and a young team that has talent and speed, but little experience, I do look for the Cowboys to shock someone in district this year. We simply have made too many mistakes and seem to lack confidence when the game is on the line. If we find a way to clean it up and play smarter at crunch time, I expect us to give Yoakum all they want. If not, the Bulldogs power game will wear us out.

Yoakum's receivers need to learn to catch the football. To many drops last week. Yoakum does have good size and they have a pretty good RB, but they will need to throw the ball down field. Against Cuero their where way to many dropped passes. If they lose faith in their passing game and become one dimensional then Edna has a shot to hang around and beat them. Edna will have to play solid D and stop the Yoakum ground game. Yoakum should win this one 27-14.

Edna has talent and yoakum better come to play . Edna has lost 3 games by a total of 10 points so they could easily be 3-3 and 1-0 in dist. other than cuero this dist. is pretty even and turnovers and penalities will be the difference in these games.

With Gonzales forfeiting the game with Edna, this game becomes even more important to the Cowboys. This will be an even better football game. Still think the dogs will win.

I really do not know what the implications are...while it certainly favors Edna as they now have a W and not an L, it seems like it makes the game tonight even more important to Yoakum as they can't afford to be 0-2 with Cuero and Edna ahead of them at 2-0.

For Yoakum, a loss tonight means they need to run the table from here on out. Either way, big game tonight with big playoff implications in D28.

Bigger question is, where's a good place to eat in Yoakum? Any local inside info greatly appreciated.

i agree with the edna fan. this is a bigger game for yoakum now because edna would be 1-1 with a lost and still be in the hunt but yoakum would be in a big hole at 0-2 in dist. as far as eating places Harley's has good steaks. Go thru yoakum on 111 and take a right on 77a towards hallettsville and it is on the left.
also good mexician food if you take a right after underpass and go down several blocks.there are 2 mexician food places on the right.
