Is there any limit on how much a school district can spend on equipment, number of coaches and their compensation, and facillities if it is budgeted? Do the "rich" school districts have that much of an advantage over the "poor" districts? Do booster clubs and private donations make up a lot of athletic budget shortfalls?

Our athletic budget has been the same for YEARS! Yes, our booster club off sets some of the expense once their $ is gone. We are lucky to have some generous donors and a good amount of community support!

Not sure if Caldwell's budget has remained fairly constant, but I know they've wanted to expand the stadium but have had to postpone it due to financial cutbacks (thanks to beloved fuel prices for one thing). I never understood why the then-AD Goforth chose to build such a modest-sized stadium (2,500) when the old one at the original Hornet Field, I swear, seemed larger. I thnk they moved it to Thrall. At least it looks familiar when I pass it.
