Sad day for baseball to see Junior retire. Gosh was he something before the neverending parade of injuries. :(

Jr plays baseball the way it should be... but it also cost him... he plays full speed with no regards to his body which cost him at least 3 1/2 years in his prime...
easily the best player of his generation.... he would be past Aaron and Bonds if he were healthy the entire time

I was about to say, they put NOT in big bold letters across the ticker earlier. Thank goodness. I hate it. If he wouldn't have gotten hurt, I don't think anybody would care that Bonds broke the record because Griffey would have 800.

One of the sweetest swings I've ever seen.

A-Rod will get to 800 and make it all a moot point.

Maybe so, but I somehow don't believe that his legacy will live on as Ken Griffey's will. I have some of Ken Grffey's old baseball cards and hopefully they will be worth a lot one day.

I got to meet him once... he is exactly like you think he would be... very personable... of course it was one meeting... but I loved it...

it is amazing how he and Barry grew up in essentially the same environment yet they are totally different
