8-year-old girl hospitalized after pit bull attack 4:32 PM CT

An 8-year-old girl has been taken by helicopter to a Dallas hospital after she and her mother were mauled by two pit bulls in Forney, authorities said.
10000 block of FM 740 The girl, who has not been identified, was with her mother when they were attacked by two dogs about 4 p.m. this afternoon in the 10000 block of FM 740 near the Forney and Mesquite city lines, Forney police dispatchers said.
The girl was taken by CareFlite to Children’s Medical Center Dallas, dispatchers said. The mother was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Mesquite animal services is now searching for two pit bulls that they believe were involved in the attack.
