WOW....BR is hanging early w/ WOS and was acutally up on them 7-0 until the WOS TD just now! I'm a little shocked at that.

IHStangFan

this is just proof so far of what Brookshire Royal can do when they are motivated. It's a shame (from what I've heard) their problem is lack of discipline & structure. Their D sounds stout so far though! Come on Falcons!! Represent D26!!

WOSgrad

I'm not surprised at all. WO-S has been off for 3 weeks and I expected the Falcons to hang tough at least initially.

IHStangFan
10-03-2008, 08:19 PM
yeah, Mustangs have been off...but Royal is...well...they're Royal. I fully expect to see the Mustangs really bust out of the gates here any moment. It'd be NICE if BR made a game of it for 4Qs beings they are from our district, but at this point I figure that's just wishful thinking.

good lord....another fumble/turnover...WOS ball. I was over in WOS last night...my buddy bought a little truck and we went and picked it up.

TD WOS.

14-7? I only ask because the Mustangs are anything but automatic on PATs.

Somebody laughed when I stated BR had a very good defense. If their offense would just give them some help and quit turning the ball over, they would be ranked as one of the better defensive teams. I bet their defensive average per play is very good.

Congrats to WOS.

I would venture to say you are correct on this. I would imagine that under normal circumstances WOS puts at least 60 on the board against a mediocre opponent like this.

Had your Mustangs had a game in the last three weeks I'd say this could be a valid comparison. Since they haven't though, it's not. A WOS team, under normal circumstances against an opponent this bad, has Roy's Boys out there to start the 2nd half.

Bull's-eye

Brookshire has at least 5 turnovers and only 75 yards of offense and WOS only wins 33-7. This proves BR plays some good defense.

WOS might of been rusty, but Bellville played that game missing several starters due to injuries. I'm sure WOS came in fairly healthy with all that time off. I think that would probably even things out if you're trying to compare scores.

I turn the ball over 5 times and gain 75 yards and that speaks highly of my defense?

Think about it! The BR offense has no success and forces their defense to be out on the field most of the night. They give away the ball 5 times and a high scoring team like WOS can manage only 33 points and a total of 285 yards. How many plays did WOS run tonight? How many of those turnovers were deep in Brookshire territory? I'm sure most of them were because BR's offens only managed 54 total yards.

33 points is a lot of points for a good defense to give up. Sounds to me like WOS didn't put up a lot of yardage because the WOS defense kept giving them a short field.

Thanks, we do know our football, but I'm sure other people can see the logic. I figure that BR only gains an average of 18 yds per qtr. Most of those 5 turnovers had to be deep in their own territory. WOS must also have the ball in their possesion almost 40 mins and they only put up 285 total yards. Can you see the logic?

Yes I sure do. A Mustang team that hasn't played a game in three weeks is able to do the same thing that another team did who had no such interruption to their schedule.

WOS>Bellville

The comparison between the two has no merit whatsoever as WOS is a far superior team.

Bull's-eye
10-04-2008, 02:03 AM
Find out how many plays WOS ran from scrimmage and divide that into 285, that will give you the average per play. I think you will find that BR has a very good defense

If BR's offense controlled more of the clock, wouldn't it make sense that WOS would have less plays & yards?

WOS87 made the comparison, I'm sure it means something to him. Sounds like your making excuses for WOS only defeating a very "bad" team 33-7. I guess BR could say the long bus trip caused them to play bad or they hadn't seen much film on WOS. If you are comparing scores, WOS had the advantage of being the home team, that would probably swing the edge to Bellville. No disrespect to WOS87, but somebody needed to respond to JR2004.

It's "you're" not your. Had you gone to school in Sealy you'd know the difference!

To even attempt to put Bellville in the same league as a great team like WOS is comical. Maybe if you put some of the girls from the volleyball team out there on the football field you'd be able to stay within 30 of the Mustangs!

It's send not "sent"...When you are asking questions in a sentence you end it with this thing called a question mark and not a period. Apparently education is not a priority down in Bellville!

Only fans from completely worthless NBA franchises brag incessantly about regular season wins. Then again you're a Bellville fan! Y'all brag about beating mediocre 4A teams in a scrimmage!

I will say a few things...

Brookshire does have a pretty salty defense. They stack the LOS and try to deny the run, which leaves them vulnerable to the pass which is what happened to them last night. Once they were forced to respect the pass, the run opened up.

WOS had not played a game since 9/6/08, that's 27 days. It makes a difference, I don't care what anyone says. It's like starting your season over. They were out of rythmn all night which was due partly to BR and partly to not playing for so long. Several drives were interupted by penalties or fumbles that we lost or fumbles that we recovered. It was a very sloppy game.

There is no way you can compare a what a WOS team, that has not played in a month, did with BR to what another team did. I'm not saying that WOS is any better than Bellville, but I am saying that, last night is no indicator. Had we been able to play Kirbyville and Jasper as scheduled, I think it probably would be a fair comparison.

WOS87 wasn't at the game... and just maybe, 87 is saying that a WOS team with only 2 games under their belt and a 27 day layoff is 1 point better than a Belville team with 5 game experience...

My point was about the salty BR defense and not directed at WOS (I had them #2 in my last poll). Glad someone can see how their offense can make it extremely difficult for this unit. You tell me WOS gets 5 turnovers and holds BR to 54 total yards and they only win 33-7. I would of expected a much higher score.

WOS1
10-04-2008, 10:55 PM
I know man, I'm just messin with you. BR's defense IS scrappy. I also agree that we should have scored more. Some of that had to do with BR and some to do with Mustang miscues.

Of note... we did have 2 lost fumbles deep in BR territory.

Bull's-eye
10-04-2008, 11:14 PM
Last week, Bellville was dominating the BR offense and had received several gifts, but the score only ended up 33-8. I was shocked and then I see the same thing happen to WOS.

Here is an answer. I was sick for two weeks. I watched a grand total of one full quarter of that game. Upon getting better I didn't visit this site for awhile. Once high school basketball season ends there is not much here of interest to me for several months. When I was on the computer I went to the Lakers board to talk with Laker fans and Blazer fans.

I never eat crow because, well, I'm an arrogant LAKERS FAN. I have no regard for someone such as yourself that follows an inferior and worthless franchise. :)

I was just happy to see the Lakers there this year. I lost no sleep over the Purple and Gold losing and never will. :)

It is pretty funny though to see you derail things from talk about a mediocre Bellville football team! Be sure and reassure your fellow paranoid Bellville fan (Some know him as FBB) that, despite what he thinks, no one on this board is out to get him!
